Transmission and receipt of an intake form for legal services does not create any attorney-client relationship between Public Counsel and any person or entity. Public Counsel cannot guarantee the length of time it may take to assess an intake for legal services, but generally, you should expect to hear back within three days.
Public Counsel will not represent an individual or an organization unless Public Counsel enters into a signed written agreement for legal representation with that individual or organization.
Public Counsel often assists clients by finding a qualified volunteer attorney, but it cannot guarantee that it can find a volunteer attorney for any specific matter, nor can it guarantee the length of time it may take to find a volunteer attorney.
Any information submitted through the above applications for legal services shall remain confidential, unless otherwise agreed to by an applicant and Public Counsel, with the following exception: Applicants submitting applications understand that information provided may be shared internally with Public Counsel attorneys and staff for the purposes of determining eligibility of services; and shared externally with potential volunteer attorneys in order to find pro bono attorneys to represent the applicant.
