Summer School in Societal Transformation

In order to participate in the 2021 edition of CIRODD's Summer School in Societal Transformation, you must fill out the following form before Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 11:59 pm EST.

This form has 6 sections and a total of 20 questions. It takes approximately 45 minutes to complete. At any time, you may save your form and come back to it to complete it later.

A question-and-answer section is online on the CIRODD website to answer your questions. However, we invite you to write to us for any question you have not yet found an answer to.

Required documents:

• Summary of your experience (resume or link to your LinkedIn profile).
• Short video presentation of 3mn.

Prerequisites to be able to fully benefit from this training:

• A global understanding of sustainable development;
• Experience in collaborative work;
• To be fully able to work and exchange in one of Canada's two official languages;
• To be available for sessions scheduled in the time zone of the province of Quebec (EST);
• Be equipped with a computer or tablet and a stable high-speed internet connection.

Data Collection and Processing

The data collected in this questionnaire will enable the jury members to evaluate the applications for participation in the Summer School in Societal Transformation (hereafter 'School') cohort that will begin on July 27, 2021 in virtual mode.

Once anonymized, this data could be used for accountability, program evaluation, communication and learning purposes.

The personal data collected regarding self-identification to different groups is intended only to obtain a socio-demographic portrait of the individuals applying to the School and to promote the development of a cohort reflecting the values of equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) promoted by CIRODD and its partners. 

The raw data will be recorded on a secure Jotform digital medium administered by CIRODD for a maximum of one year, and will be consulted only by those involved in the participant selection process.

 

Subject to the limits provided by law, you have the right to access, modify, correct and delete personal information concerning you and provided in this form at any time. Any such request should be addressed here.

Personal commitment is estimated according to the preliminary program provided online.

It is estimated that a total commitment of approximately 135 hours is required for the entire training, including teamwork and individual readings. 

The Summer School is open to participants from all disciplines and backgrounds.

The Summer School is also intended for graduate students of all disciplines.

The Summer School will be presented in virtual or comodal mode.

To complete your application, we ask you to provide us with a short 3-minute video, during which we ask you to introduce yourself (first name, last name) and answer these questions:

2. What would you like to gain from your experience at the School?
3. How do you plan to integrate the School's experience into your personal and professional activities?

We know that you are (probably) not video professionals.

The technical side of the video will not be considered in the evaluation of your application. Just make sure that the image is stable and that your voice is well audible. You can simply ask someone to film you in an environment where you are comfortable, or you can film yourself talking on your phone.

Technical Instructions

• Minimum duration of one minute and maximum duration of 3 minutes
• Taken on a photo camera, your smartphone, Zoom or any other equipment or application at your disposal;
• Make sure that your voice is well audible and that the video is taken in a quiet, noise-free environment. We recommend that you perform a few tests;
• We would appreciate seeing your whole face (portrait format);
• We recommend you make a few tests;
• Accepted formats: .mp3 or .mp4, .mov, .wmv, .avi
