Credit Recovery
CREDIT RECOVERY in GNA CYBER may be enrolled for courses that were failed during a prior school year and courses during the school year when they become mathematically unable to pass. Credit recovery may be requested at the start of Quarter 3 if they are Highly Unlikely to pass.

By participating in GNA Cyber Credit Recovery, the Parent / Guardian and student are agreeing to the Terms and conditions below.

To be removed from GNA Cyber Credit Recovery, contact your school guidance counselor.
- Credit Recovery may be offered to recover credit for previously failed or failing courses during the school year. Credit recovery for currently failing courses must be requested and will only be considered when the course is unable or highly unlikely to be passed for the year. The failing grade will be included on the student transcript.
- Courses will be designated as Credit Recovery in Skyward, as well as on report cards, transcripts, etc. and will be marked with an incomplete in Skyward until the course is complete and passed or at the end of the year if the student has failed the course. Grades and progress must be checked through Imagine Edgenuity regularly.
- Students, parents, and guardians are responsible for discussing the student's academic goals and pathways with the guidance department to ensure credit recovery is the appropriate placement for the student.
- Student athletes and their parents / guardians are responsible for ensuring that courses the student is enrolled in meet their athletic eligibility requirements within high school and beyond. Cyber courses, including credit recovery courses, may not be NCAA eligible. Consult the guidance office or the athletic director for more information.

If the student will be working on cyber courses at home, a parent or guardian should be home throughout the school day. If a parent / guardian is not home, they are responsible for providing appropriate supervision throughout the school day.
The student, parent, and guardian consent to the exchange of student data to obtain access to educational materials and associated services for use in GNA Cyber including with Imagine Edgenuity, abiding by the privacy policy as outlined on the Imagine Edgenuity website.
The parent or guardian, along with the student, consents to receive communications regarding, but not limited to, attendance records, Imagine Edgenuity progress reports, grade reports, and other relevant correspondence to the email addresses provided or recorded in Skyward/Edgenuity. It is imperative that both the parent or guardian and the student regularly check their email. Students must monitor their school and Edgenuity email accounts.
Parents, guardians and students are required to monitor progress, grades, and attendance, in the Imagine Edgenuity family portal or the student account. SKYWARD must be accessed regularly by students, parents, and guardians to monitor student information, including report cards.
The Greater Nanticoke Area School District has a responsibility to promote academic honesty and integrity and to develop procedures to deal effectively with instances of academic dishonesty. Students are responsible for the honest completion and representation of their work, the appropriate citation of sources, and respect of others’ academic endeavors. The completion of coursework with AI or other computer applications/scripts is prohibited. Academic dishonesty is prohibited in all programs of the GNA School District.
Parents, guardians, and students are expected to adhere to all policies established by the Greater Nanticoke Area School District, which include, but are not limited to, attendance and the acceptable use of internet and technology policies. Failure to follow GNA policies may result mandatory participation in the cyber lab, removal from GNA Cyber, referral to the magistrate, and/or other consequences outlined in the policy. Students are required to be “present” in each cyber “class” 2.5 to 5 hours per week. Full time cyber requires between 15 and 27.5 hours weekly (3 to 5.5 hr./ day recommended)
Before reporting to GNA for any extracurricular or "after school" activity, a minimum of 2.5 hours must be logged. Students, parents, & guardians are responsible for ensuring student courses and grades meet the athletic eligibility requirements for the sport or activity. Cyber courses, including credit recovery courses, may not be NCAA eligible. Consult the guidance office or the athletic director for more information.
Students are REQUIRED to report to GNASD to take all standardized testing unless otherwise indicated by guidance
Students receive a grade that will factor into their GPA, for each of their cyber courses. Report cards are available at the end of each grading period in the student and parent / guardian Skyward account. Students enrolled in GNA Cyber will, upon successful completion of their required graduation credit along with meeting all other graduation requirements, receive a diploma from Greater Nanticoke Area School District.
The student and family will register for cyber each year and complete a cyber orientation either in person or virtually. If the decision is made to return to traditional, the parent / guardian must contact the student’s guidance counselor / school office
