• ONA-LAC CANOE CLUB - ANNUAL REGISTRATION

    Annual General Membership cost is $60.00 - Online Registration is Payable through E-transfer
  • An Annual General Membership is Required to Enter Our Facilities. The includes any one Individual or any single Family-unit. All Memberships are $60. Please Read the below Registration Agreement:

    Both 'New' and 'Returning' members MUST complete the ALL areas of the form below to purchase a membership, along with payment of $60 membership fee.

  • To ensure the safety of our members and guests, every individual person, or a minimum of 1 person per member-group MUST HAVE AVAILABLE A WORKING CELL PHONE WHILE ON CLUB PROPERTY.

    Ona-lac canoe club is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal property.

    This new requirement is to ensure members and guests have access to call for Emergency Services should they be required.

     

     

  • ADDITIONAL FAMILY MEMBERS MUST:

    a) Be the spouse of primary applicant, or

    b) Be dependent(s) of the primary applicant, and 

    c) Reside at the same physical address.

    ** EACH additional family member requires a completed Release of Liability Waiver.  If the person named is under 18 years of age, the form must be signed by the child's legal guardian. **

  • VEHICLE INFORMATION:

    Please provide a description of your vehicle(s).  This will assist with monitoring of trespassers, and in case of emergencies.

  • Membership Rules

  • 1. New memberships are available to persons 18 years of age or older who meet the eligibility criteria.  Persons under 18 can participate with a parent's membership.  The Club reserves the right to limit the number of new members accepted based on space availability.

    2. You promise NOT to use your membership privileges to conduct any fraudulent or business activity or commit any crime on club properties or during sanctioned club activities.

    3. A fully paid and approved membership allows free access to the Ona-Lac Canoe Club site and use of it's facilities and equipment, located on Windy Lake Ontario, From May 1st to October 1st of the same year, within the terms of the membership agreement.

    3. Club facilities are for members and authorized guests only.  Members may bring guests OCCASIONALLY.  All guests MUST abide by all rules and regulations and MUST sign a Guest Release of Liability Waiver prior to engaging in any club  activity , use of club equipment or entering the water.  Members are solely responsible for the care and safety of their guest(s) and must inform their    guest(s) of Club rules, safety procedures, land hazards and swimming hazards.

    4.  All members are expected to take an active part in the care and maintenance of Club property.  Deficiencies and broken equipment, whether accidental or intentional, must be reported to an Executive, Director or Officer without delay.

    5.  All members and their guests using,or being a passenger to, any boats, canoes, kayaks, Stand-Up-Paddleboards (SUPs), sailboats as well as powerboats must follow the "USE OF WATERCRAFT POLICY" without exception.  This includes following all relevant laws regarding safety equipment and operation of vessels.

    6.  All members and their guests making use of or entering any location within the premises of the Ona-Lac Canoe Club must follow the "USE OF CLUB PROPERTY POLICY" without exception.

    7.  All members and their guests shall be familiar with and follow the "PERSONAL FLOATATION DEVICE POLICY"

    8.  Permission of the Executive is required to borrow any equipment for use other than on Windy Lake.  Also the appropriate entries must be made in the log book.  Call Shawn Whalen at 705-918-7880.

    9. GLASS BOTTLES ARE PROHIBITED ON CLUB PROPERTY.  No glass beer/liquor bottles either - CANS ONLY.  Please remember to take your garbage home.

    10. Children under the age of 16 cannot be given the use of the key-code. Persons under 16 must be accompanied by an adult member.

    11.  NO DOGS OR PETS allowed ANYWHERE on club property. 

    12.  All members shall ensure that when leaving the club, all equipment and buildings are safely secured.  Equipment must be put away and all doors must be locked.

    13. All members and their guests shall take notice of, and abide by any special or temporary rule provisions posted either on premise or on the club's official website www.onalaccanoeclub.ca without exception.  Members and Guests shall review posted updates prior to engaging in any activities.

    14. Members and their guests shall verify the current weather conditions and weather forecast prior to engaging in any activity.  Only proceed if safe to do so.

    15. Every individual person, or a minimum of 1 person per member-group must have available a working cell phone while on club property or sanctioned events, to ensure reliable access to emergency services.

    16. Any person who's failure to abide by these rules, or performs any act, or omission, which is deemed misconduct by the Board of Directors, and is so deemed damaging to the operations or reputation of the Ona-Lac Canoe Club or it's membership, may have their membership suspended or terminated   without reimbursement, and be held liable for said damages, at the sole discretion of the Board.

    17. An individual or family membership does NOT include any rights or privileges to overnight camping. Camping, trailers or overnight tents by members and nonmembers without Express Written Consent in the form of a Camping Permit is strictly prohibited. 
     

  • Privacy Policy

  • 1. We are committed to ensuring our members' right to privacy.  All information collected is used solely for the administration of the Ona-Lac Canoe Club and it's Board of Directors in carrying out club business, and registered agents, in carrying out club activities, including but not limited to, informing  members of club activities, locating members in an emergency, and administration of our insurance policies.  The information provided will not be given, sold or distributed to anyone for any unauthorized purpose.  Note: A member's name (only) is published on the annual members list.

    2.  The Ona-Lac Canoe Club hereby notifies that Video and/or Still Picture recording devices may be in use 24 hours per day, 7 days per week on club property.  NOTE:  To ensure patron privacy, there is absolutely no surveillance equipment, cameras or recording devices permitted, or in-use inside any building, including any part of the Sauna building, boathouse, outhouse or outside swimming area.  Cameras are used to monitor entry/exit points and equipment storage areas only.

    FOR PARTICIPANTS OVER THE AGE OF MAJORITY

    Participants must agree to paragraphs 1-6, confirm declarations of fitness and sign this agreement before participating in any Ona-Lac Canoe Club activities.

    WARNING: THIS AGREEMENT WILL AFFECT YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE. READ CAREFULLY.

     ASSUMPTION OF RISK(S)

    To:  The Ona-Lac Canoe Club

  • In consideration for the opportunity to participate in an educational kayaking, canoeing, or stand-up paddle-boarding course, training, personal recreational use, any related activity (“paddlesports”) or the participation in maintenance or construction activities and work on club property or club santioned events, I HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGE, APPRECIATE AND AGREE THAT:

    1. I assume all risk and release and hold harmless the Ona-Lac Canoe Club Not-For-Profit Corporation, it's Instructors, Instructor-trainers and their officers, directors, employees, representatives, agents, volunteers, premises and vessels(collectively, the “Releasees”) from any legal or equitable claims, demands, debts, law suits or causes of action that I, my estate, heirs, survivors, executors, or assigns may have had in the past, have now or may have in the future for any and all injury, disability, death, loss or damage to person or property, howsoever caused, including but not limited to the risks described in paragraphs 3, 4, 5 and 6 of this Agreement, or by negligence, gross negligence, breach of contract or breach of any duty imposed by the common law or statute.

    2. By entering into this Agreement, I am not relying on any oral or written representations made by the Releasees, other than what is set out in this Agreement. This Agreement is the entire agreement on liability between the Releasees and the signing party (“Releasor”).  No other terms may be incorporated into this Agreement. If any provision of the Agreement is found to be unenforceable, the remaining terms shall be enforceable. Litigation arising from this Agreement will be commenced in the province/territory that the activity was undertaken in.

     

  • HAZARDS AND RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH PADDLE SPORTS, WATER SPORTS, OUTDOOR RECREATION OR ONA-LAC CANOE CLUB ACTIVITIES

     

    3. Risk of injury from the activity and equipment utilized in paddle sports, swimming, and related land or water activities insignificant and includes the potential for broken bones, drowning, injuries related to exposure to natural elements, contagions and man-made pollutants, severe injuries to the head, neck, and back, or other bodily injuries that may result in permanent disability or death.

    4. Potential causes of injury include, but are not limited to rolling over or sinking of a vessel, whether intentional or unintentional; water hydraulics, rapids, currents, swells, waves, water/wetness, debris, cold weather, cold water, lightning or other natural forces; camping, animal attacks, portaging or other similar activities; my own negligence or the negligence of others, including that of the Releases, which may include misjudgments of terrain, rapids, weather or route choice.

    5.  I am aware that participating in activities offered by or associated with the Ona-Lac Canoe Club exposes me to many inherent risks, dangers and hazards. By engaging in any activities offered by or associated with the Ona-Lac Canoe Club, I freely accept and fully assume all inherent risks, dangers and hazards and the possibility of personal injury, death, property damage and loss resulting there from.

  • HAZARDS AND RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH COVID-19, COVID-19 VARIANTS, INFECTIOUS ILLNESSES AND DISEASES

     

    6. A) Waiver:

    In consideration of Ona-Lac Canoe Club allowing the undersigned to participate in activities at the above referenced facility, I for myself, my heirs, personal representative or assigns, do hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Ona-Lac Canoe Club, it’s directors, officers, employees and agents from liability from any and all potential claims related to or resulting in personal injury or illnesses (including death) and property loss arising from any COVID-19 transmission that results from the undersigned being present at the facility and participating in any activity.

    B) Assumption of Risk:

    At this time some human contact or confinement in the same location carries with it certain inherent risks that cannot be eliminated regardless of the care taken to avoid COVID-19 Transmission. I have read the previous paragraph and I know and understand and appreciate these and other risks are inherent in the activity I am participating in. I hereby assert that my participation is voluntary and that I knowingly assume all such risks and while aware of these risks I have elected to be present at the facility and participate in activity.
