• Pay As You Go Application

  • WHITE RIVER VALLEY ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE

    PREPAY METERING AGREEMENT
    Please read carefully

    1. Members electing prepay metering will need to complete the application for membership/electric service, to include the verification of the applicants’ identification.

    2. Existing members (currently receiving service) will be eligible to enroll in prepay metering if their account is current at the time of enrollment. All currently held security deposits, if any, will be applied to the account. Fifty Percent (50%) of all future payments will be applied to the current bill that is due as well as any unbilled amounts. The other Fifty Percent (50%) will apply as a prepayment for future electric service. Once all accounts receivable charges are paid, One Hundred Percent (100%) of all future payments will apply as a prepayment for future electric service.

    3. As a prepay member, a security deposit is not required. The current approved Cooperative rate structure is used for prepay accounts.

    4. Prepay accounts are NOT eligible for credit extensions or payment arrangements.

    5. Members electing prepay metering must have (1) a valid email address or (2) working telephone number. Members are solely responsible for keeping this information up to date and on file with the Cooperative. If your contact information is not current, you will not receive account notifications. This could lead to the disconnection of your electric service (no credit left on account) without notification or warning.

    6. Through available internet service, members may view daily energy usage, receive notifications and make prepayments as their budget allows. Please be advised that setup and account verification is required prior to using the internet to manage your account. You can manage your account via SmartHub. For information regarding SmartHub, please visit www.whiteriver.org and click on the SmartHub tab.

    7. For members enrolling in the prepayment program, a nonrefundable prepay connect fee of $30.00 plus a minimum prepayment of $50.00 is required to enroll in the program. All future prepayments require a minimum of $25.00.

    8. Notifications will be given to the member daily once the prepaid account balance drops to a level of $25.00. Notification will only be given by email, text, and/or by telephone. Please be advised that the telephone notification is provided by an automated calling system. Notification preferences can also be managed via SmartHub.

    9. Prepayments may be remitted by visiting any one of the Cooperative’s five District office locations during regular office hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please be advised that this option WILL NOT be available during non-office hours and holidays. Note: if you elect to make a prepayment using a deposit drop box, you must do so timely and are advised to do so during regular office hours.

    10. Prepayments may be remitted 24 hours a day by calling 1-888-999-0869. During regular business hours you can call 417-335-9335 or 1-800-879-4056 and you will be routed to a billing information representative for assistance. During non-office hours and holidays, members will be required to use an automated phone payment system.

    11. Prepayments may be remitted via the internet 24-hours a day. Setup and account verification is required prior to using this option.

    12. Member accounts will be subject to immediate disconnection any time the account drops to a negative balance. Disconnection may occur on weekends, holidays or during severe weather conditions. Again, notification will only be given by email, text, or by telephone using an automated calling system. It is incumbent upon all holders of prepaid accounts to monitor their account balances to ensure proper credit balances—it is not the responsibility of the Cooperative to do so.

    13. If an account is disconnected and does not become active by remitting a prepayment within seven days, the account is considered inactive and a final bill will be produced. A nonrefundable $30.00 prepay connect fee will apply if the account is then reconnected as a prepay account.

    14. The member, at any time, may elect to convert the prepay meter account to a postpaid meter account. However, the Cooperative reserves the right to require full payment of a deposit as a condition of continued service.

    15. A final bill statement will be issued on all inactive accounts. Any credit balance will be refunded approximately thirty (30) days after the final bill has been issued. The Cooperative is not liable for any refunds or claims of third parties related to prepaid accounts.
