The S. C. Tucker Elementary School and the parents of the students participating in activities, services, and programs funded by Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) (participating children), agree that this compact outlines how the parents, the entire school staff, and the students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and the means by which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership that will help children achieve the State's high standards. This school-parent compact is in effect during the 2021-2022 school year. School Responsibilities: S. C. Tucker Elementary School will: Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables the participating children to meet the State's student academic achievement standards. Hold two parent-teacher conferences during which this compact will be discussed as it relates to the individual child's achievement, These conferences will be held Sept 30th, 2021 and February 17th, 2022 Provide parents with frequent reports on their children's progress. Specifically, the school will provide progress reports at the mid-point of each quarter and upon parent's request at any other time throughout the school year. Provide parents reasonable access to staff. Specifically, staff will be available for consultation with parents during their preparation period. Parents may arrange a meeting with their child's teachers by calling the high school office. Provide parents opportunities to volunteer and participate in their child's class, and to observe classroom activities. Parents may sign up to volunteer by contacting the principal, parent involvement facilitator, or child's teacher. Provide information to parents of participating students in an understandable and uniform format, including alternative formats upon the request of parents with disabilities, and, to the extent practicable, in a language that parents can understand. Provide to each parent an individual student report about the performance of their child on the State assessment in at least math, language arts and reading. Parent Responsibilities
We, as parents, will support our children's learning in the following ways:

Monitor my child's school attendance. Make sure that my child's homework is completed. Monitor the amount of television my child watches. Encourage my child to read/read with my child every night. Volunteer in my child's classroom. Participate in decisions relating to my children's education. Promote the positive use of my child's extracurricular time. Attend parent informational meetings and parent-teacher conferences scheduled by my child's school. Stay informed about my child's education by promptly reading all notices from the school or the school district either received by my child or by mail and responding, as appropriate. Communicate with the school about my child's performance. Inform school officials when a situation arises that may have an effect on performance. Student Responsibilities I, as a student of S. C. Tucker Elementary School, will share the responsibility to improve my academic achievement and achieve the State's high standards. Specifically, I will: Read at least 30 minutes every day outside of school time. Give to my parent or the adult who is responsible for my welfare all notices and information received by me from my school. Attend school and, while at school, participate fully in the learning opportunities provided by my teachers. Abide by the school's rules and regulations. Use my extracurricular time in positive, constructive ways. Make a commitment to work in school to the very best of my ability.
