• Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP)

Site Specific Training for Temporary Workers
  • According to WAC 296-823, employers must provide initial/annual Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP) training to those employees with potential exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials.

WORKFORCE Dental Staffing Solutions Inc (WORKFORCE) has provided the general training requirements including the epidemiology and transmission of BBP’s, information about the Hep B vaccine, post-exposure
    procedures, etc.

As our client and main site contact, you must train the temporary WORKFORCE employee about the following items prior to the start of work:

    • Location of your written BBP Program/Exposure Control Program
    • Biohazard labeling at your office
    • Use of equipment and safer medical devices
    • Location of sharps disposal
    • Location/availability of Personal Protective Equipment (eye protection, gowns, gloves) and where to dispose of contaminated PPE
    • Location of handwashing facilities & emergency eyewash
    • The post-exposure protocol at your office
    • Location of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs) and training on any
chemicals/hazards you have that are not found in typical dental settings

WORKFORCE has ensured that all temp employees comply with the Hepatitis B vaccination documentation requirement (WAC-296-823-130) and we keep the documentation at our office for your reference.

Please complete this site-specific training checklist, sign to confirm completion, and keep this training record on-file for the length of temporary employment (note: if the temp employee works for longer than 1 year, the
site-specific training must be completed annually).

    WORKFORCE management occasionally audits temp
employers and requests a copy of the completed checklist to document that our temp employees have received the site-specific training as required by WAC 296-823-12015.
