AOCA Fellowship Application
  • About AOCA

    Read carefully.
  • AOCA is a program designed to cultivate personal, professional, and business development through free public workshops and an opportunity to develop and execute collaborative projects with arts organizations throughout Greater Hartford. The AOCA fellowship is a catalyst for establishing collaborative relationships between artists of color and arts organizations. Fifteen fellows will be selected by a host organization with whom they will develop a mutually agreed upon project, program, or event that may take place within one year. Each fellow will receive a $5,000 grant to support their collaboration. Additionally, each cohort will receive group coaching to support their success and encourage community building. We will announce our new cohort at the end of June and the fellowship will officially start thereafter.

    • have some professional experience within their respective art discipline(s)
    • not be currently enrolled in any undergraduate/graduate studies, as we do not want to become an obstacle to academic success

First Review: The Program Director and a committee of up to Four (4) AOCA alumni will conduct a rubric-based assessment of each application.

    • Selection criteria: art discipline, compatibility with host organizations' mission(s), and potential for this experience to accelerate candidates' growth at this point in their journey.
