OPM strives to offer quarterly plein air painting workshops for members, included with the cost of membership. Non-members may participate for a fee of $25.
Bob Upton will offer a demonstration and instruction in plein air painting in oil on the Mississippi. We will meet down near the water on the riverbank right by the main parking lot. Bob will be painting a view looking down the river.
Note: River Road is closed due to construction to the north but is open from the south to the park entrance.
Hidden Falls is a gem in the heart of the city. 'The Hidden Waterfalls are currently being restored and will soon be gushing with water along its meandering creek to the Mississippi. You will find picnic tables under the historic shady Cottonwood trees, with great views along the hiking trails along the river.
Registration is required so we can provide a Zoom link to remote participants and message everyone in case of bad weather or other last minute changes to plans.
If you plan to attend in person: Bring a camp chair or stool, sack lunch and beverage to stay hydrated, painting supplies, and bug/sun protection. As always, we'll have an afternoon paint-out in the park after the workshop.
