Board of Trustees Annual Fundraising Involvement and Commitment
The Texas Veterinary Medical Foundation (TVMF) relies on the assistance of its Board of Trustees in its annual fundraising efforts. Your personal connections to colleagues, individuals, corporations and foundations can help yield relationships and financial support that will assist TVMF achieve its fundraising and other goals. The Development Committee and staff are here to guide and facilitate this vital part of your board service. We hope to have 100% board participation in fundraising efforts above and beyond your personal financial contributions.

There are many ways you can support TVMF in its fundraising efforts. From the list below, please indicate which areas you are willing to help by checking the appropriate boxes (we ask that you select at least three areas). A staff or board member will follow up with you on each of the areas as appropriate. If you have an idea for fundraising assistance not captured in the list below, please contact Leah Ann Tibbitts.

Serve on the Development Committee: This committee is responsible for overseeing the fundraising activities of TVMF including the Annual Awareness Campaign (Annual Appeal) and will assist the President and Vice President when needed with the Annual Board Campaign.Identify, help facilitate introductions to and cultivate at least 5 prospective donors: Examples include fellow veterinarians, decision-makers at local businesses, and/or individuals and/or clients who may be interested in the work of TVMF and possibly of high net-worth, etc.Write personal notes and/or make personal phone calls to a small number of identified individuals for the Annual Awareness Campaign.Host a cultivation social event at your home or another location: Social events are a great cultivation opportunity for prospective supporters. Hosts are responsible for providing food and drinks (preferably as an in-kind gift above and beyond your annual board pledge), helping to invite guests, and providing TVMF with contact details so we may follow up with them.Work with TVMF staff where needed to bring awareness to TVMF through your or a colleague’s practice to create greater awareness of and bring financial support to TVMF: There are many great opportunities throughout the year that would provide marketing visibility as well as financial support for TVMF operations.Attend donor and/or prospect meetings and solicitations alone or with TVMF staff, particularly where you may have a connection: Broaden your fundraising experience by accompanying TVMF staff on a donor visit.
