Health Testing

To be fully health tested, Dogs must have:
*Fanconi and *PRA dna test (cheek swab)
*Hips X-rayed and Xray sent to OFA approved Radiologist (vets will send these, you just have to make an appointment for the Xray)
*Thyroid (Have vet draw blood and sample sent to OFA approved lab)
*Eyes evaluated by a certified Opthalmolist (generally dog shows are cheapest and you dont have to enter to partake in testing)

Note: Generally the Vet will take care of most of the information and paperwork. Amore is here to help set you up with the required paperwork and information on where to send it, how it should be done, etc should you want to partake in health testing. It will be an easy and hassle free thing that allows Amore to produce a healthier and happier next generation!

I know, Weird question. But there is a point, bare with me! The reason I ask if you like reading is because of the Travelling Book! I am now offering the Traveling book Experience! The “Traveling book” is a book that travels from buyer to buyer, and it is quite an exceptional read! The book will help you with training and improving your relationship with your puppy while getting the most out of each session! The title of the "Traveling Book" is called   WHEN PIGS FLY - By Jane Killion.   This book goes into depth about how to train "difficult dogs" such as Basenjis, by giving you ways to get through to your dog, how to shape your dog, how to get your dog to WANT to work with you, How to clicker train, etc! I DO recommend buying this book for yourself, but if you don’t want to purchase it right away, I offer this Traveiling Book experience, and how it works is I send a copy of this book between buyers (I have one copy that will be passed between buyers) and when you are finished, you simply send it back to ME or you can send it to the next Buyer! Completing this Puppy Placement Form is giant step forward in the process to acquiring a puppy from Amore Basenjis, however Please understand, the Breeder does reserve the right to refuse any puppy placement to any person at any time for any reason. 

If Amore Basenjis agrees that a puppy of ours is found to fit your lifestyle and personality, you'll receive information on expected litters and/or on all puppies available at the time of approval. Once Puppies are born, We require a holding fee of $500, which guarantees you one of the puppies currently born. But Please keep in mind, By placing a holding fee, you are simply guaranteed a puppy from the litter, but which specific puppies will not be known until after the 8 week evaluations.  If you place a holding fee on a puppy, you are committing to take a puppy from the litter, regardless of whether your gender/color preference is available. Should you elect to not take a puppy from the litter, the holding fee is forfeited and NON REFUNDABLE. We do the best to match each puppy and person that have a complimentary personality/lifestyle. We know our puppies the best and having raised them, we understand where they would fit best by the information you have provided within this application form. You should review both the holding fee policy and the pick of litter policy on our website for any updates prior to placing a holding fee. 

Our puppies go through 2 evaluations. One is a Temperament Evaluation that is done at 49 days (7 weeks) and our second is the conformation evaluation that is done at 8 weeks.  Puppies will go to their new homes at 9 weeks of age. We do not know WHO will get WHICH puppy until these evaluations have been performed. Conformation evaluation is done when the puppy is most like their adult structure (8 weeks old, give or take a couple days) so we place those who are structurally most sound, in show homes with potential breeding rights and those who do not conform best to the breed standard are placed in pet homes.

All of our puppies are raised using PUPPY CULTURE. We dedicate a very large amount of time into each puppy. They are raised right from the whelping box after birth all the way up until they leave. There is a critical time frame for a puppy, 3 to 12 weeks and its VITAL that each puppy is trained and socialized during this time and that all experiences are positive ones. You will be taking your puppy home 3 weeks prior to the end of this stage so it is vital that you continue using PUPPY CULTURE on your puppy until a minimum of 12 weeks however we recommend the Buyer continue Puppy culture for the life of the dog, its such an amazing benefit to their life and training. We recommend our puppy buyers purchase PUPPY CULTURE and use the DVDs to incorporate the raising techniques used in these videos on this puppy and any future puppies purchased anywhere. its truly a life changing and eye opening DVD series. We do offer the DVDs to our buyers at a discounted rate should you wish to purchase one from us. But you can also buy straight from the creator (Jane Killion of Madcap Bullterriers) if you wish to pay full price.
