Thank you for your interest in being a showcase institution for the 2021 ACPA Institute on the Curricular Approach (formerly known as the Residential Curriculum Institute - RCI). Showcase Institutions have previously attended the Institute and are willing to share their journey toward a curricular approach.
In the showcase presentation, we ask that you articulate how the Ten Essential Elements informs your implementation of curriculum and how you have designed a curriculum that is unique to your specific campus and student population.
Other considerations for being a showcase institution:
Showcases are required to go through a review process by the ICA Faculty.
Showcases will be approximately 50 minutes and will include a visual (PowerPoint, Slideshow, Prezi, etc.) and methods for engaging participants.
Showcases can focus on residential, departmental and/or divisional curriculum content.
Showcases can focus on the overview of institutional curriculum information or a specific portion of your curriculum (ex. training, selection, assessment, educational plan for a specific population, etc.)
All Showcase applicants must clearly provide the core documents for their curriculum to include, but not limited to, the Educational Priority, Theoretical Framework, Learning Goals & Narratives, Learning Outcomes, and Educational Strategies.
All Showcase applicants must articulate how the Strategic Imperative for Racial Justice and Decolonization (SIRJD) has influenced or will influence their curricular journey.
If selected as a Showcase Institution, all presenters must register for and attend the 2021 ACPA Institute on the Curricular Approach. As space at the Institute is limited we ask that all Showcase presenters are registered for the Institute no later than 30 July 2021.
The ICA 2021 Faculty Co-Chairs reserve the right to decline or remove an Institutional Showcase if the Showcase deadlines, requirements, and expectations are not followed.
