Informed Consent Form for Artist Circles & Industry Roundtables
About this project:

We are embarking on an important journey of learning through connecting with arts educators, arts funders, arts administrators, and arts learners. We are capturing these groups' collective experiences with community arts programs and digital learning to better understand their needs and to develop greater resources and supports for the sector. This project (Engaging Artists in Digital Learning Environments) is led by Voice of Purpose, trusteed by Art Starts, and funded by the Canada Council for the Arts. About Industry Roundtables & Artist Circles:

The aim of our Industry Roundtables and Artist Circles is to learn more about your needs when it comes to the realm of digital learning in community arts education. Insights from these sessions will be used to build resources for those serving in communities through arts education, and to make recommendations for the transformation of the community arts sector. These conversations and roundtables will be held over Zoom.
About Voice of Purpose:

Voice of Purpose (VOP) is a platform for deepening the impact of transformative Community Arts education. We focus on building capacity and sustainability through professional development. The primary purpose of our industry is to deliver community work and social impact through the arts. Our mission is to ignite and equip artist-educators and arts organizations to embody their purpose and deepen their impact. We believe that individuals and organizations that embody their purpose have greater capacity to impact social change.
Participant rights & privacy/confidentiality:

Participation in Artist Circles and Industry Roundtables is completely voluntary. Both will be recorded and some photos may be taken for data collection purposes and limited promotional use. Note that we cannot guarantee absolute anonymity or confidentiality of information shared in Artist Circles and Industry Roundtables (as it is a group conversation involving other participants). Participants are provided with opportunities before and after conversations to indicate or change their consent for information sharing. Those who wish to remain anonymous are advised to notify organizers, accommodations will be made to honour this request.
Important note regarding collection & analysis of data:

All identifiable markers of participants will be removed from all research materials shared to the public. All those involved in the analysis of the data (i.e., our internal team) will be required to agree to terms and conditions informed by principles of ethical and anti-oppressive research. Our priority is the safety and well being of all participants taking part in our work, including the protection of sensitive and personal information provided.
