Introduction: About this Initiative
Dear Parents and Legal Guardians,
With your consent, Voice of Purpose would like to invite your child to be an ongoing participant in our community programming and research.
As an arts based education organization, we serve communities by building support for the needs of students. Our current program is called ‘Engaging Artists in Digital Learning Environments’ (EADLE). Through it, we aim to learn how we can improve arts programs online through honoring youth perspectives and experiences.
There are two parts to this project:
Our funding for this program is provided by Canada Council for the Arts.
We would love to have your child involved in either of the abovementioned activities, and invite your consent for their participation.
Please note that your consent can be removed at any time. Participant safety and wellbeing is of utmost importance to us, and we are taking necessary steps to ensure privacy and confidentiality of the information, stories and insights that are shared throughout the project.
We do hope that you will consider providing your consent for your child to participate in this work.
More information about our initiative can be found on our website, and on this informational PDF. If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Voice of Purpose (VOP) is an organization that focuses on building capacity and sustainability in the community arts education sector. The primary purpose of our sector is to deliver community work and social impact through the arts. Our mission is to ignite and equip artist-educators and arts organizations to embody their purpose and deepen their impact. We believe that individuals and organizations that embody their purpose have greater capacity to impact social change.
All identifiable markers of participants will be removed from all research materials shared to the public. All those involved in the analysis of the data (i.e., our internal team) will be required to agree to terms and conditions informed by principles of ethical and anti-oppressive research. Our priority is the safety and wellbeing of all participants taking part in our work, including the protection of sensitive and personal information provided.
Participation in Voice of Purpose research surveys (such as the EADLE survey) is completely voluntary. We are taking multiple measures to ensure that the confidentiality of your child's responses will be protected. All data will be secured through the use of password-protected files, and any information that will be sent over the internet will be encrypted.
Participation in Voice of Purpose group conversations (such as our Artist Circles and Industry Roundtables) is completely voluntary. These sessions will be recorded and some photos may be taken for data collection purposes and limited knowledge sharing and promotional use. Note that we cannot guarantee absolute anonymity or confidentiality of information shared in the Artist Circle conversations (as it is a group conversation involving other participants). Participants are provided with opportunities before and after conversations to indicate or change their consent for information sharing. Those who wish to remain anonymous are advised to keep video off and/or select a pseudonym during group sessions.
We're sorry you didn't feel this program was the right fit for your child at this time. If you ever decide to change your mind please let us know, or you can just update your consent using the parental/guardian consent form available here.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our work. Please press submit to complete.
