• Stories of Care Application Form

  • About

Stories Of Care is a dynamic and rebellious writing and outreach organisation, founded by Sophie Willan. We make urgent work that is personal, political and powerful. We work exclusively with diverse new writers whose voices need to be heard and whose stories need to be told. With an outstanding creative team, we develop our writers to smash through all the ceilings across all the platforms; there are no limits to how, what and where we will tell our stories. We’ve written novels, published anthologies, made television, radio, stand-up and theatre. Our work is inspired by our experiences and fired by our imaginations.

Stories Of Care is expanding its core missions by working with a new and exciting Lead Artist every two years. Each Lead Artist will be a special and original talent, whose voice is underrepresented in the arts, and whose story needs to be heard. We will support this Lead Artist as they explore their personal story to tap into a wider social narrative and make great art on a large scale, that smashes through all the ceilings and instigates positive social change.

This year’s new Lead Artist is Oliver Sykes and this year’s writing programme will prioritize applications from:

    • 18-25 year-old Care-Leavers
    • 18-25 year-olds from low-income and non-standard families

For full project details including dates etc, please visit www.storiesofcare.co.uk

We strongly recommend that you complete your answers to the five, core application questions (about your writing interests, etc.) offline on a word document and then paste the answers into the online form to ensure you have a backup of your answers in the event that the form crashes.

To continue your application, please answer all the questions below and hit ‘submit’.
