GENERATOR, INC. VOLUNTEER MEMBER ADDENDUM

This VOLUNTEER MEMBER ADDENDUM is by and between Generator, Inc., a Vermont nonprofit corporation (herein referred to as "Generator" or "Company"), and the individual or entity identified on the signature page of this Volunteer Member Addendum (herein referred to as "Volunteer Member" This Agreement sets forth the terms and conditions governing the Member's access and use of the shared Generator facilities and premises, including equipment leased or owned by Generator, located at 40 Sears Ln., Burlington, VT (the "Facilities")

1. Duration of Agreement & Termination:

The term of this Agreement shall commence as of the date set forth on the signature page of this Agreement and shall continue for a minimum 4 month contract period. If the 4 month lease is broken prematurely, the Volunteer Member forfeits his/her/their reduced membership rate.

The Volunteer Member may terminate this Agreement with 14 days advance notice to the other party. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Company reserves the right to terminate this Agreement at any time, immediately and without notice if Volunteer Member fails to comply with any provision of this Agreement, as well as any additional policies and procedures that may be adopted by Generator from time to time.

Upon termination of this Agreement, Volunteer Member shall remove all personal possessions from the Facilities within 10 days of the termination of this Agreement, after which period all Volunteer Member's personal possessions shall become property of Generator. Generator may use or dispose of any such property in its sole discretion.

2. Volunteer Member Obligations:

(a) Perform (1) 3 hour shift each week (12 hours per month) per Volunteer Guidelines & Procedures.

(b) Arrive on time and be alert during shift. Opening and closing shifts need to follow the Opening/Closing section in the Volunteer Guidelines & Procedures.

(c) Greet visitors, members, guests and/or community interested in visiting Generator.

(d) Monitor member check-in at entrance(s).

(e) Perform routine cleaning duties as outlined in the Volunteer Task section in the Volunteer Guidelines & Procedures.

(f) Connect members, guests and community-at-large to Generator’s Maker Forum.

(g) Connect members, guests and community-at-large to the appropriate staff to help answer questions or support their use of Generator. Please visit generatorvt.com/staff for contact info.

(h) Participate in safety and cultural trainings as they are available. Know how to find Generator’s Emergency Action Plan (EAP), Lock Out, Tag Out Plan, Bloodborne Pathogen Program and related Safety Check! information in the Member Portal.

(i) Find coverage at least 24 hours in advance of absence from shift (Covid Safety supersedes this policy).

(j) Provide 14 days notice before leaving your position prior to the end of the current term.

3. Reduced Membership Rate:

Upon signing this Volunteer Member Addendum, Volunteer Members will receive a reduced membership rate of $40 per month. General membership costs $95/month.

(a) Volunteer Member agrees to pay the monthly fees in the amount detailed in the "Membership" section of Generator's website. In addition, Volunteer Member shall pay all reasonable third-party fees (attorney's fees, debt collection fee, fees for repair of damage to Generator tools due to excessive or improper usage) and other costs incurred by Generator in connection with any late payments or past due amounts.

(b) All fees must be paid according to the following terms: Fees are due upon receipt of monthly billing notification. Billing occurs monthly from the date of sign up. Late fees, in the amount of 5% of the monthly Fees, will be charged as of 5 days after the payment due date. This Agreement may be terminated if fees remain unpaid for more than 15 days after the due date.

4. Fees:

(a) Volunteer Member agrees to pay the monthly fees in the amount detailed in the “Membership” section of Generator’s website. In addition, Volunteer Member shall pay all reasonable third-party fees (attorney’s fees, debt collection fee, fees for repair of
damage to Generator tools due to excessive or improper usage) and other costs incurred by Generator in connection with any late payments or past due amounts

(b) All Fees must be paid according to the following terms: Fees are due upon receipt of monthly billing notification. Billing occurs monthly from the date of sign up. This Agreement may be terminated if fees remain unpaid for more than 15 days after the due date. 

5. Reduced Membership Rate Termination:

Volunteer Member foreits his/her/their reduced membership rate if any one of the following behaviors are witnessed:

(a) Use of drugs or alcohol in the facility

(b) Theft of property or misuse of organization equipment, materials or funds

(c) Harassment, abuse or mistreatment of community members, volunteers or staff

(d) Failure to abide by Generator policies and procedures

(e) Failure to follow direction as instructed by staff or Board of Directors

(f) Misrepresentation of Generator to the press, public or its community partners

(g) Failure to satisfactorily perform assigned duties

(h) Failure to find coverage for an absence or chronic tardiness (3 cumulative strikes and you're out policy)
