  • I hereby give Unionville Alliance Church permission to contact the persons named as references to ascertain my suitability for volunteer ministry. I release all such references from liability for any damage that may result from furnishing such evaluations to you.

    I give Unionville Alliance Church consent to verify the information provided herein and to contact the references listed. I waive any right to confidentiality and of any right to pursue damages against Unionville Alliance Church for losses caused by the reference’s response.

    I also grant my permission for Unionville Alliance Church to keep on file my Vulnerable Sector Check, for purposes of my protection against any false allegations and for the protection of those I serve.  I consent to such an investigation with the understanding that the results will be kept in strict confidence.  I agree to adhere to the protection policies as adopted by Unionville Alliance Church.

    I understand that if my character or morals are deemed by Unionville Alliance Church leadership to be inappropriate and/or criminal at any time during my volunteer service, Unionville Alliance Church will be entitled to terminate my assistance without express cause or prior notice regardless of any other oral or written statement by Unionville Alliance Church prior to, at, or following the date of volunteer service.

    I understand that Unionville Alliance Church is responsible for the welfare of any person or persons entrusted to my care. I will cooperate fully with the staff in the fulfillment of my duties and will keep all information I encounter, in my role as a volunteer, confidential.  If at any time I find that for any reason I am unable to support the policies, procedures, or doctrine of Unionville Alliance Church, I will gracefully and quietly resign my volunteer position. If my supervisors find that I am in conflict with any of the policies, procedures or doctrines and we are not able to resolve the issue, I will gracefully and quietly agree to resign my volunteer position.

  • Volunteer Leader Lifestyle Description

  • At Unionville Alliance Church we strive to do and be our very best for the glory of God. As such, there is a list of attributes that each leader must have to be effective in ministry. Please read each of these verses in order that you may understand the requirements of a Godly leader.

    Qualifications for Leadership

    ·         Someone who fears God, is trustworthy and who hates dishonest gain (Exodus 18:21)

    ·         Someone who has a pure or good heart (1 Samuel 16:7)

    ·         Someone who is known by the church and been around for a time (Acts 1:21)

    ·         Someone who is known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom (Acts 6:3)

    ·         Called by God (Acts 13:2)

    ·         Someone who is trustworthy, reliable and qualified to teach (2 Timothy 2:2)

    ·         Someone who is reputable (1 Timothy 3:1-13)

    ·         Someone who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined (Titus 1:5-9)

    Expectations of a Leader

    ·         A follower of Jesus Christ who is intentionally seeking to be Christ-like

    ·         Leading or participating on a ministry team on a consistent basis (attending all meeting and required practices for his/her role)

    ·         Growing in understanding of the Bible through consistent quiet times with God

    ·         Living a life that is compatible with Scripture

    ·         A team player

    ·         Is involved in regular fellowship with other Christians and is involved in a life group

    ·         Teachable and accepting of mentoring and coaching

    ·         Actively involved in sharing the Gospel

    ·         Regularly attends age and stage specific services and programming

    ·         Supports the rest of the leadership team privately and publically

    If a leader’s life is found to be at odds with the values and expectations listed above, they will meet with one of the pastoral staff. Upon meeting, a course of action will be decided and may include being asked to step down or take time off from their leadership position.

  • Volunteer Leader Covenant

  • Walk – I have made a personal commitment to follow Jesus and I will strive to grow in my personal relationship with him.

    Lifestyle – I am committed to living in such a way that my actions and choices are both godly and “above reproach” based on the Volunteer Leader Lifestyle Description.

    Time Commitment – I am committed to regularly participate in activities and meetings for my age and stage of life, on time, for at least one full minsitry year (September – June).

    Participation – I agree to participate in all  events and activities I am leading unless I am physically unable.
