Keeping the Right Focus

1. Foundation: Submit to the            who is sovereign over the Church! (v. 1-3)

• His desire: The Holy Spirit desires for the Church to be      focused for the glory of God.
• His guidance: The Holy Spirit has a plan that He will      every Church.
• His leaders: Godly leaders must have a heart to worship &      the Holy Spirit’s guidance through the Word & fasting.

 
2. Main Mission: Remember that proclaiming the      must remain the main thing! (v. 4-5)
 
3. Opposition: Expect spiritual      & opposition that will certainly come against us when the Gospel is our focus. (6-11, 13)

• External Opposition: The Devil does everything in his power to      away the “seed” of the Gospel when it is being sown, so that it doesn’t take root (Lk 8:11-12).
  1. The devil holds lost people in spiritual blindness. (2 Cor 4:4)
  2. The devil uses lost people to      , scheme & oppose righteousness to carry out his evil designs.
  3. The devil often uses      motivation to keep people in spiritual deception.
• Internal Opposition: We must      our hearts so that we as believers will not defect & possibly disrupt Gospel work like John Mark. (v. 13)

 
4. Victory: Spiritual victory requires fervent spiritual battle. (9-12)

• Be willing to      to the Spirit’s control. (v. 9)
• Be willing to      spiritual error when prompted. (10)
• Be      to those whom God is drawing & interested. (7)
• Be ready to present the Gospel      . (v. 8, 12)
• Be expectant that      will believe. (v. 12)
