I hereby give permission to allow the implanter Lindsay Brattan-Klein (from Wrexham Pet Care) to implant a microchip into my number and species . I have been told that my records will be held on the animal tracker database, that will only be used for the purpose of reunification and for compliance with Microchipping of Dogs 2015 legislation and that it is my legal responsibility to date. If it is a litter of puppies that are being microchipped, I understand that it is a legal requirement that they puppies are registered in the first instance to me, the breeder. To implant a microchip will be injected under the skin, between the shoulder blades of the animal. I have been advised by the implanter that I must:Leave the actual site alone for at least 12-24 hours, i.e., strictly no scruffing or excess stroking in this area.Try to refrain from vigorous exercise, at least aiming to keep as calm as possible for 4-6 hours after microchipping has been carried out.No grooming or bathing for at least 24 hours post procedure. No harnesses for at least 24 hours post procedure. No clothing for at least 24 hours post procedure. I also understand that: The implant area may bleed due to catching a capillary in the skin. If this should happen the implanter will ensure bleeding has stopped before they leave however, I should not attempt to clean the site for at least 24 hours as this could lead to infection. If I follow this advice there is very little risk of infection, however if I should see swelling at the implant site, I should seek a veterinarians advice. I will report this to the implanter, and I accept full responsibility for veterinary costs related to this..Minor migration of the chip may occur depending on the behaviour of the animal/s in the first few hours after implantation. The implanter will show the microchip has been implanted following the procedure. In the unlikely event of a microchipping failing, I will report this to the implanter and take the animal to the vets for an X-Ray to ensure the chip has not migrated. I will not hold the implanter liable for costs. If I am having a litter microchipped it is highly recommended that I invest in my own scanner so that I can check all microchips are still in place before the puppies leave for their new keeper and also that I can make sure I send the correct paperwork with the correct puppy.
Payment must be provided on the day of microchipping unless otherwise agreed.
