Content Writer/Editor Intern

Pretzel Kids is a one-stop shop for kids yoga. Our business is fueled by our subscription-based, branded platform empowering members to teach our licensed yoga and mindfulness classes in their communities and online.

Since launching our web platform in late fall 2019, we've added teachers nationwide and are growing a brand centered around the success of our instructors. When our Pretzel Kids teachers succeed, so do the kids, schools and families they serve.

About the position

We’re looking for a writer and editor for our awesome blog! This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience writing and editing, as well as help drive traffic to our blog and website.

We're an early-stage startup, which means you'll work directly with our founder, who is a former news reporter and experienced editor/journalist.

You'll also have the unique opportunity to help us shape our brand voice in the children’s yoga space.

What you'll do

Report to our founder directly
Write 2 stories a week
Assign stories to blog contributors
Edit and rewrite stories
Research keywords and create SEO assignment templates
Add backlinks to stories after they have been published
Update stories
Own our content calendar
Build our store out on WooCommerce and Etsy and create content for items
Build our store on Printful and integrate with WooCommerce
Pitch Pretzel Kids to media outlets and reporters

Our ideal candidate

Excellent writer with published stories.
Experience with SEO.
Experience with WordPress and working with SEO plugins (we use Squirrly which is similar to Yoast).
Ability to source, vet and work with guest writers.
A desire to work with an early-stage startup.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to think and communicate creatively and thoughtfully.
Highly entrepreneurial and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to thrive under minimal guidance.

You’re tech-savvy (familiarity with WordPress, Trello, Squirrly, WooCommerce, Etsy, Printful, Google My Business, Google docs, LinkedIn, Facebook, other social media sites, Canva, ConvertKit are a HUGE plus)
You’re highly motivated with the confidence to work independently while supporting growth goals and business objectives
You love yoga
You’re interested in children’s health in wellness
You’re a fast learner

How You’ll Be Paid

Compensation for this role is an agreed-upon weekly stipend for set amount of hours per week.
