The UNDP Annual Meeting on Strengthening the Rule of Law and Human Rights for Sustaining Peace and Fostering Development will be held from 22 - 24 June 2021 in a virtual format. The event will kick off with a high-level plenary session led by UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner.
The virtual format of the meeting will allow greater participation and offer reflections and perspectives shared by a wide range of stakeholders, including Member States, Ministerial-level national counterparts, UNDP and UN experts, as well as representatives from think tanks, academia, and civil society. The focus of the meeting will be on people-centered approaches to the rule of law, security and human rights against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic while also reflecting on the achievements of 2020. The meeting will also serve as the background discussion for the next phase of the Global Programme on Rule of and Human Rights (2022-2025).
