AMERICAN WOMEN PAGEANTS INTERNATIONAL TITLEHOLDERS CONTRACT
This contract is for each titleholder representing American Women of Service and Young American Women of Service and any system division. All rules are guidelines and an agreement in good faith of what is acceptable and required as an international titleholder. All titleholders are referred to as American Women of Service.
American Woman of Service represents and is a full-time volunteer in service to Crossroad’s AWOS (American Women of Service). The year of service is a volunteer position in which American Woman of Service represents the organization in a professional, respectful manner at all times. She will work with volunteers as a team member to represent the organization and the international platform.
American Woman of Service has a confident, comfortable, and commanding presence. She is an intelligent individual who takes personal pride in her physical appearance and general health. American Woman of Service is articulate and strives to be a confident achiever. She is a role model who inspires others and relates well to people of all ages. She is energetic, charismatic, compassionate, and outgoing. She is cooperative, collaborative, and an excellent communicator and speaker. American Women of Service is always punctual and flexible. She is an ambassador, peer mediator, and public relations representative of the American Women of Service Program, Crown CARES, and her personal and international platform. She is respectful, considerate, and is committed to her role as a titleholder.
American Woman of Service demonstrates excellent professional communication skills and can successfully represent the organization in all situations. Upon signing this international contract, she will observe all international rules and policies until her release after the next year’s international competition.
American Woman of Service job description includes:
Please work with the AWOS development and mentoring professionals to strengthen the skills needed to represent the international pageant program and its platform effectively.
Develop a complete knowledge of the international platform and mission statement, and be able/ready to speak on-demand and with the conviction of the subjects.
Will represent her personal platform and The Crown CARES international platform and make at least two appearances per month. These appearances may come from the international office or maybe be self-booked with the approval of the ED-AED.
Will work to promote sister queens’ platforms at designated times of the year.
Will post on social media (Facebook page and Instagram) approximately once per week and do a live video at least twice per month, sharing an international post.
Prepares and gets all tasks done promptly. The titleholder and the ED agree upon this time.
Develop and actively promote the titleholder, international, and partnership platforms internationally, and capitalize on opportunities for donations and/or in-kind sponsorships and future scholarships.
Promote the AWOS programs actively, recruiting contestants, volunteers, and sponsors. Will recruit at least 1 participant, showing the noticeable effort of recruitment and securing one sponsor or large group promotional appearance during the reign. Consistently include a promotional message about the organization and its programs with each presentation and opportunity.
Be introduced at all functions as American Woman of Service. Never wearing another sash or title during her reign as American Woman of Service.
The titleholder may not represent another title or compete in another pageant during her reign.
Mentors all AWOS titleholders and Young American Women of Service participants and serve as a role model to all youth people of America.
Actively engaged in fundraising and sponsorship development for AWOS, successfully securing new sponsorships, local, regional, and state programs, and assisting with retaining existing sponsors and competitors.
Promote the international programs with respect and dignity.
Represent all of America as a public spokesperson and an advocate for the international issues and platform.
Champion young women and men's development, education, and professional growth and promote them as future leaders.
Represent and demonstrate the highest intelligence, integrity, respect, and honesty.
Serve as an ambassador and public relations representative of AWOS.
Maintain a healthy physical and mental lifestyle.
Have excellent communication skills.
Reports are sent biweekly and report any problems and issues upon occurrence via email.
Due to the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month, submitting a biweekly plan of appearances, projects, and social media posts to the ED email: americanwos@yahoo.com.
Participates in a monthly conference call with ED on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 7:30 PM EST.
Upholds the rules and guidelines of the platform, the Crown CARES, at all times. This includes staff, sponsors, and other titleholders of AWOS. Disrespect to anyone, especially the ED, Crossroads Board, employees, or volunteers, will be grounds for immediate dismissal.
Returns all emails, Facebook, phone calls, and texts within 24 hours to ED or AED.
Be able to take constructive criticism and work independently.
Have excellent organizational skills, including time management.
Be able to work under pressure and irregular hours.
Have collaborative, collegial, and responsible work habits.
Always be on time or early for meetings and events. On-time is 15 minutes early.
Other reasonable duties assigned by AWOS.
American WomEn of Service will not participate in any illegal activities.
American Woman titleholders will hold a current State or country driver’s license.
I will keep a detailed list of appearances and inform the ED of all appearances representing the title.
All appearances of American Women of Service are arranged and handled solely by or approved by the ED to ensure integrity.
AWOS will always keep a positive attitude and not discuss private business or “put down” any other pageant system.
American Woman of Service will submit appearance requests one week in advance to the ED via email of the appearance request form.
It keeps an ongoing log of appearances.
Understands that American Women Pageant Organization is the sole property of the ED and Crossroads. All use of the crown, sash, or logo for the production of photos, gifts, and merchandise are to be approved beforehand by the ED. Photo requests should be submitted seven days before any photo shoot.
Join all social media pages, post on the pages, and use social media as a form of communication as outlined by the organization. Making twice-weekly written posts and monthly video posts.
American Woman of Service will retain her own accountant or financial advisor to handle her finances, including scholarship money paid, if any, by the international office.
AWOS understands that the organization is not responsible for fees or costs unless written within the prize package.
American Woman of Service will carry her own health and auto insurance.
American Woman of Service will be responsible for the necessary preparation for each appearance, including writing her own speeches and specifically targeting them towards the audiences that she will address. An outline of Crown CARES is provided.
American Woman of Service will be provided with a speech and updated information on the Crown CARES.
American Woman of Service will complete an activity or project that supports Crown CARES during October. The Crown CARES project should be planned before October 15 with approval from ED. The project should make an effort to share Crown CARES with a greater audience.
AWOS will participate in International CARE Day each October.
American Woman of Service understands that AWOS does not warrant or guarantee any specific amount or many appearances for her year of service.
To supplement income or support travel for the year of service, American Woman of Service and her family and friends may hold fundraisers and obtain sponsors if desired.
American Woman of Service may not appear in any inappropriate attire during her reign, including photographs, media, or magazine articles. All wardrobe choices should be appropriate for appearances and positively reflect the organization.
American Woman of Service may not sign any contracts for modeling or photography or have photos taken in her crown and sash without the written permission of the ED.
American Woman of Service may not make any agreements for written articles or interviews during her reign without prior written permission from ED.
American Woman of Service shall submit for permission seven days in advance via email. This includes print articles/interviews, news, podcasts, etc.
Scholarships, if any, will be paid at the end of the completion of the year. If, for any reason, American Woman of Service cannot complete her year, the remaining scholarships, awards, and gift packages will not be awarded.
If scholarships or prize money is available, the titleholder will be notified at the time of crowning and will be paid after her reign.
American Woman of Service understands that prizes listed in the 2022 prize package may change without notice based on sponsor agreements, availability, and ability to provide prizes. All prizes will be given before completing the 2022 reign on July 2, 2023.
American Women Pageant titleholder agrees to complete thank you notes to all international sponsors within one month following crowning, and ED will provide addresses.
American Woman of Service will make herself available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of the following year’s international pageant as a volunteer and prepare for her successor.
American Woman of Service will make her best effort to participate in all international service endeavors and travel arrangements unless serious injury, illness, or family emergency. Travel arrangements include but are not limited to titleholder weekends, international photoshoots, and cruise vacations. Travel arrangements include but are not limited to Maine visit- September 2022, Nashville - November 2022, and International cruise vacation – March 3-March 8, 2022 (sailing from Miami). If travel arrangements are paid and non-refundable, the titleholder is responsible for reimbursing all fees to the international office.
American Woman of Service will create and hold a fundraiser for the international platform Crown CARES (payable to Crossroads), with a minimum of $500 during her 2022-2023 reign.
American Woman of Service will address her directors and adults with proper etiquette and socially polite expressions at all times.
And of the utmost importance, I will respect the time the ED, AED, and other volunteers offer by being on time, communicating, and following through on the commitment of the crown. Failure to comply will result in losing your crown and title.
American Woman of Service reports directly to and is under the supervision of the ED or AED.
American Woman of Service never has or will not appear in a film or photographs, recreationally or professionally, involving nudity, sex, or inappropriate behavior. This includes but is not limited to selfies, social media postings, sexting, drinking excessively in public, or using illegal drugs.
I will not hold Crossroads, AWOS, Crown CARES, or its employees and volunteers responsible for my choices and will not sue, threaten or bring charges upon the organization.
American Woman of Service will not compete or hold another title, state, local, or otherwise, during the time of reign and agrees that this is true as of the day of crowning.
American Women of Service will be required to sign and abide by international rules and contracts.
American Women of Service understands that charges for nonparticipation are grounds for dismissal.
I will abide by the rules of Crossroads and the said International organizations.
I certify that I am female, identify as a female, and am a citizen in Northern, Central, or Southern America or the Caribbean Islands. I agree to accept the terms as explained in the delegate manual and understand the policies set forth by Crossroads, including the International Code of Conduct Policies. Delegates, Titleholders and their parents/guardians hereby release and forever discharge Crossroads, Maine Academic Scholarship Program, Crown CARES, American Women of Service, Young American Women of Service, or any program of Crossroads and the local, state, national or international pageants in which I competed, including its directors, employees, volunteers and staff from any claims and demands arising from damages or liabilities due to theft, accident, loss or injury resulting from participation in the above-mentioned programs. Any delegate competing to qualify in the Young American Women of Service must certify that they have never been married or been pregnant. All delegates and their parents/guardians further covenant and agree not to sue the organization, its directors individually, its employees, volunteers, or staff for any claim for damages or liability.
