PROGRAM TYPES

We have many ways to promote and run student projects.

Engineering Intramurals are extra-curricular opportunities promoted to sophomore through senior undergraduate students (no cost to sponsor).
Engineering Senior Design Course Projects typically target a specific major all in their senior year, and is completed in a course with a supervising faculty member. (Sponsorship fee is required)
The Computer Science Master's Project connects you with Alan Hunt, and you will "pitch" your project to the class of graduate-level Computer Science students that are looking for a project. If a student is interested in your project, they will work on it for the year. (No cost to pitch)
The Master's level project pitch is available for non-computer science projects. Our office will advertise an opportunity for you to pitch your project to students. If anyone is interested, they will work on your project for the year. (No cost to pitch)

I understand that if I choose to run my program as a UB student project:*

I will be expected to maintain some ongoing communication with the participating students, minimally once per month from September to May.Our students are goal oriented and ambitious, however there is no guarantee that the listed deliverables or timeline will be followed. These project formats are not ideal for time sensitive endeavors.I can not select the specific students for my project. Students will be selected by the UB Experiential Learning team from the various applications received.I can seek support from the UB Experiential Learning team throughout the project with concerns about my team or project.There will be ongoing group meetings with the UB Experiential Leaning Team throughout the project with all project sponsors (typically 4 per year).
