  • The Nancy Douglas Award was created to commemorate the life and passion of Nancy Douglas for education.

    Nancy Douglas was a principal in the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board who was committed to social justice. She worked tirelessly to provide educational opportunities for students in need. She fostered partnerships with the community to acquire extra resources for her school and was an early proponent of the Breakfast Program. Nancy had the ability to see potential in students and staff and supported their development.

  • Purpose of the Award

    This award is open to OCDSB graduating students who identify as female and are pursuing post-secondary education, with a focus on those students entering Education and having an interest in social justice. The recipient of this award should demonstrate leadership and financial need.
