The Distinguished Leader Award is among the most prestigious recognition the college can bestow upon a student who is completing his or her studies at McLennan Community College.The award is presented to a graduating or completing student of McLennan Community College who has demonstrated a record of distinguished service and extraordinary achievement in academic or extracurricular realms, shown remarkable leadership, or provided a service to a cause that brings distinction to the college. Each year, an individual is selected by the MCC Foundation’s Alumni Awards Selection Committee to receive this prominent award.
• Any individual may nominate any 2023 or 2024 graduate or completing student for this award. To be eligible, nominees must have successfully completed a one-year certificate, two-year associate’s degree program, or have earned a minimum of 30 transferable hours (without a degree) from MCC.
•Nominations must be received by July 31, 2024 for consideration for the award
announced at the November 8, 2024 Scholarship Recognition Ceremony. Forms
received after July 31 will be considered the following calendar year. Nomination forms will not be recycled from year to year; a new nomination form must be submitted each year for consideration. The recipient of the award will be notified by August 15, 2024 so he or she can make plans to attend the ceremony. The honoree will receive an award and an engraved paver in the Highlander Legacy Plaza on the McLennan Community College campus.
