  • The requirement for a confirmation review may be waived if the CE has a technology-based system that not only demonstrates a high-degree of verification accuracy when processing household applications but also meets criteria determined by TDA that supports continued accuracy of the system. A high degree of accuracy is defined as a less than 5% eligibility determination error rate on the CE’s most recent Administrative Review.

  • If approved, the technology-based confirmation exemption is in effect as long as the CE’s most recent Administrative Review (AR) indicates a 5% or less eligibility determination error rate. If the CE’s most recent Administrative Review (AR) indicates an eligibility determination error rate of greater than 5%, the exemption is no longer in effect.

    Questions about an exemption to use technology-based confirmations may be submitted to TDA by email to SNPWaivers@TexasAgriculture.gov. Technology-Based Confirmation should be recorded in the subject line of the email.

      To submit a request to TDA, please take the following actions:

    • Complete the Technology-Based Confirmation Exemption Request Form located in the Texas Unified Nutrition Programs System (TX-UNPS), Download Forms, NSLP/SBP Exemptions and Waivers.

    • Retain a copy of the submitted form for the CE’s records.

    • Click Submit when the form is completed.

  • C. Does the technology-based confirmation system the CE is currently using check for application fields that are left blank and does the system alert you if there are blank fields?*

  • D. Does the technology-based confirmation system the CE is currently using calculate household size and income to verify eligibility and does the system alert you if the income is close to another eligibility status?*
  • E. Does the technology-based confirmation system the CE is currently using ensure the EDG number (SNAP and TANF) have the correct number of digits and if not does the system alert you?*
