North Shore – Barrington Association of REALTORS® is delighted that you have chosen to become a member! Here is some information that will help you learn the benefits NSBAR provides. Please assist us in getting to know you by reading the information below and then accurately completing the application that follows.

MANDATORY orientation. If this requirement is not met within 6 months, services will be suspended until the course has been completed.

Orientation

NSBAR provides New Member Orientation the first Wednesday and Thursday of every other month. During this Orientation you will learn the benefits that the National, State and Local REALTOR® Associations provide members.

The National Association of REALTORS® requires that members take Code of Ethics training when they join the Association.

NSBAR will also consider the following in determining an applicant's qualifications for REALTOR® membership:

1. All final findings of Code of Ethics violations and violations of other membership duties in this or any other REALTOR® association within the past three (3) years

2. Pending ethics complaints (or hearings)

3. Unsatisfied discipline pending

4. Pending arbitration requests (or hearings)

5. Unpaid arbitration awards or unpaid financial obligations to this or any other REALTOR® association or REALTOR® association MLS

6. Any misuse of the term REALTOR® or REALTORS® in the name of the applicant’s firm

If application is approved, I agree as a condition to membership to complete indoctrination course of the above named association WITHIN 90 DAYS from date of application or forfeit all fees, if any, and otherwise on my own initiative to thoroughly familiarize myself with the Code of Ethics of the National Association of REALTORS®, including the duty to arbitrate business disputes in accordance with the Code of Ethics and Arbitration Manual of the board and the constitution, bylaws, and rules and regulations of the above named board, the state association and the National Association, and I further agree to complete satisfactorily a reasonable and nondiscriminatory written examination covering such Code, constitution, bylaws, rules and regulations, and duty to arbitrate. I further agree that my act of paying dues shall evidence my initial and continuing commitment to abide by the aforementioned Code of Ethics, constitution, bylaws, rules and regulations, and duty to arbitrate, all as from time to time amended. Finally, I consent and authorize the association, through its membership committee or otherwise, to invite and receive information and comment about me from any member or other person in response to any such invitation shall be conclusively deemed to be privileged and not form the basis of any action by me for slander, libel, or defamation of character. In addition, I affirm I have read, understand and agree to the policies and bylaws referencing “What is a Non Member Licensee”.Applicant acknowledges that NSBAR will maintain a membership file of information which may be shared with other associations where applicant subsequently seeks membership. This file shall include: previous applications for membership; all final findings of Code of Ethics violations and violations of other membership duties within the past three (3) years; pending complaints alleging violations of the Code of Ethics or alleging violations of other membership duties; incomplete or pending disciplinary measures; pending arbitration requests; and information related to unpaid arbitration awards or unpaid financial obligations to the association or its MLS.Applicant acknowledges that if accepted as a member and he/she subsequently resigns from the association or otherwise causes membership to terminate with an ethics complaint pending, the Board of Directors may condition renewal of membership upon applicant’s certification that he/she will submit to the pending ethics proceeding and will abide by the decision of the hearing panel. All exclusive brokerage agreements must specify that the sponsoring broker, through one or more sponsored licensees, must provide, at a minimum, the following services: (a) accept delivery of and present to the client offers and counteroffers to buy, sell, or lease the client's property or the property the client seeks to purchase or lease; (b) assist the client in developing, communicating, negotiating, and presenting offers, counteroffers, and notices that relate to the offers and counteroffers until a lease or purchase agreement is signed and all contingencies are satisfied or waived; and (c) answer the client’s questions relating to the offers, counteroffers, notices, and contingencies.

NORTH SHORE–BARRINGTON ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® Bylaws, Article IV, Section 11 (c) Any former Member, or former applicant previously approved, may be reinstated in the same classification of membership upon recommendation of the Membership Committee and upon approval by the Board of Directors provided said former Member, or applicant, was in good standing at the time of the termination of membership. A reinstatement fee must accompany reinstatement applications. APPLICATION MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY $100.00 REINSTATEMENT FEE AND PRORATED DUES If coming from another association and have paid State and National dues through your previous Board, fee is NSBAR dues only (reinstatement fees are waived). If you have been out of the association for 3 years or more then you must fill out the new member application and pay those fees.

Copies of reports for RPAC of Illinois are on file and available for purchases from the State Board of Elections, Springfield, Illinois. Funds will only be sent to National RPAC if the contribution qualifies for use in Federal elections pursuant to Federal election laws.
