    North Shore – Barrington Association of REALTORS® is delighted that you have chosen to become a member! Here is some information that will help you learn the benefits NSBAR provides. Please assist us in getting to know you by reading the information below and then accurately completing the application that follows.

    MANDATORY orientation. If this requirement is not met within 90 days, services will be suspended until the course has been completed.

    Orientation

    NSBAR provides New Member Orientation the first Wednesday and Thursday of each month. During this Orientation you will learn the benefits that the National, State and Local REALTOR® Associations provide members.

    • The National Association of REALTORS® requires that members take Code of Ethics training when they join the Association.
    • Sponsoring Brokers, Designated REALTORS®, and Managing Brokers are required to complete correspondence Managing Broker Orientation within the first 180 days of joining or acquiring a Managing Broker license.
    • Unfortunately, if these requirements are not met, membership must be suspended until they are completed.

    NSBAR will also consider the following in determining an applicant's qualifications for REALTOR® membership:

    1. All final findings of Code of Ethics violations and violations of other membership duties in this or any other REALTOR® association within the past three (3) years

    2. Pending ethics complaints (or hearings)

    3. Unsatisfied discipline pending

    4. Pending arbitration requests (or hearings)

    5. Unpaid arbitration awards or unpaid financial obligations to this or any other REALTOR® association or REALTOR® association MLS

    6. Any misuse of the term REALTOR® or REALTORS® in the name of the applicant’s firm

  • NORTH SHORE–BARRINGTON ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® Bylaws, Article IV, Section 11 (c) Any former Member, or former applicant previously approved, may be reinstated in the same classification of membership upon recommendation of the Membership Committee and upon approval by the Board of Directors provided said former Member, or applicant, was in good standing at the time of the termination of membership. A reinstatement fee must accompany reinstatement applications. APPLICATION MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY $100.00 REINSTATEMENT FEE AND PRORATED DUES If coming from another association and have paid State and National dues through your previous Board, fee is NSBAR dues only (reinstatement fees are waived). If you have been out of the association for 3 years or more then you must fill out the new member application and pay those fees.
