I recognize the need to enforce and to protect a meaningful Code of Ethics, and I will hold blameless any member of the Association who may, without malice, bring charges against me of a violation of the Code of Ethics. I admitted to membership, I agree to abide by the provisions of the Constitution and Bylaws, including the Code of Ethics, shall be sole measure of my rights, privileges and obligations n the Association. I further understand and agree that, without limitation, violation by me of any provision of the Code of Ethics, as now existing, or as may be amended hereafter, shall be sufficient grounds for my expulsion or suspension as may be decided by the Executive Committee.   • ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP

  • Any person engages in the practice or teaching of geosciences may apply for Active Membership provided the applicant holds a Bachelor's Degree in geosciences from a College of acceptable standards and in addition, has had three (3) years of experience in the practice or teaching of geosciences. Credit for experience can be counted as follows:

    Master's Degree (1) Year Doctor's Degree (2) Years

    The Executive Committee may waive degree or current professional activity requirements if in its judgment an applicant has adequate professional experience and has attained standing in the profession.

  • JUNIORS

  • Any graduate with a major in geosciences from a College of acceptable academic standards may apply for junior membership provided that:

    a) The Applicant is engaged in Petroleum exploration or research; Or b) The Applicant is enrolled as a Graduate student in geosciences; Or c) The Applicant is engaged in teaching Geosciences.

  • STUDENTS

  • Any student majoring in geosciences at a College of acceptable academic standards may apply for student membership.

  • ASSOCIATES

  • Any Person not Qualified for any other class of membership and who is graduate of a College of acceptable academic standards whose employment is associated with geosciences, may apply for election as an Associate. The Executive Committee may waive degree requirements, if in its judgment an applicant has adequate professional experience, and has attained professional standing.
