    INSTRUCTIONS: Please complete the ClearStar Criminal Background Check (CBC) (STEP 1) first, then please RETURN TO THIS PAGE to complete the online GH USA Program Host Family Application (STEPS 2-4) below.

  • STEP 1: Criminal Background Check

  • As part of the application process, all persons living in the household that are 18 years and older are required to complete a Criminal Background Check (CBC) through ClearStar®, who will conduct a national/city/county criminal and sex offender background check. Global Horizons USA does not screen credit and must conduct a CBC on household members 18 years and older to ensure the safety and security for our international students.

    Why are we conducting the CBC?

    • We, like many organizations that place minors in American homes, want to ensure the safety and security of our students to the best of our ability.

    • Global Horizons USA is required by CSIET standards to conduct a CBC which includes the national sex offender registry and state/country criminal records.

  • STEP 2: Host Family Letter

  • Please write a letter to your international student welcoming them into your home. Describe your family and write about each family member including grandparents, pets, etc.
