The term Pride is presented loosely as a base for inspiration and interpretation. It can be taken literally, conceptually or theoretically. The work selected will teach, expose, and celebrate the diverse and fluid spectrum of the LGBTQ+ community.
We welcome creative, personal work that addresses issues being discussed today, as well as work that frames the historical struggles of the LGBTQ+ community and its acceptance into the mainstream.
This call is open to all visual artists working in all mediums, and will be held at The Plaxall Gallery, a community-run art space, in Long Island City, Queens.
The exhibit will run consecutively with music, theatre, drag, and poetry readings, generating a dynamic interaction and increase audience attendance to our show for the whole month.
