Public Petition Hawaii for Sheriff

PETITION FOR PROPOSED BALLOT INITIATIVE

TO BE SIGNED ONLY BY HAWAI'I REGISTERED VOTERS
The following shall be submitted to all of the People in all of the Counties of the State of Hawai'i, to be decided upon at a special election:
There shall be a County Sheriff elected in each County of the State of Hawaii. County Sheriffs shall perform the duties as required as the chief law enforcement officers of their specific County and shall maintain the peace.
WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, AND AS DULY REGISTERED VOTERS IN THE State of Hawaii PROPOSE THAT this initiative SHALL be implemented, in order for each of the Counties to elect a County Sheriff.
1. Allow voters to elect a County Sheriff accountable directly to the citizens of the county, the Constitution of the State of Hawai'i, and ultimately the Constitution of the United States of America to protect their unalienable rights;
2. each County Sheriff must swear an oath to perform the primary duty as a sheriff to protect unalienable rights of the people of the county in which the county sheriff is elected;
3. each elected County Sheriff has the duty to select deputies as needed to assist in the enforcement of Constitutional laws, to keep the peace, and to protect people's unalienable rights from abuses by government officials. All rights are reserved unto the people.
Pursuant to Revised Charters of each County of the State of Hawaii, a full draft of the proposed ballot initiative may be attached and will be made a part of such petition. Pursuant to Revised Charters of each County of the State of Hawaii, we designate and authorize the following committee to approve any alterations in form or language, or any restatement of the text of the proposed ballot initiative which may be made by this committee: Emil Svrcina,(pro se), Karl Dicks(suri juris), Charlotte Rosecrans(pro se).
