This project is open to artists and designers over the age of 18 who currently live and work in the State of Maryland regardless of race, color, creed, gender, gender variance, sexual orientation, national origin, age, religion, marital status, political opinion or affiliation, or mental or physical disability. The selection panel is interested in artists who can demonstrate an understanding of the area's residents, culture, and surrounding neighborhoods. Emerging artists and artists working in media that is pedestrian-scaled and suitable for outdoor display are especially encouraged to apply.
The Glenmont Forest Neighborhood Community Association Review Committee will choose designs from the submissions to display on our website and reserves the right to post design submissions publicly. Up to three to five semi-finalists will be selected and paid a $750 stipend to do a site visit (pending ease of restrictions due to the pandemic) and more fully detail the proposal in cooperation with the landscape design firm.
