1. Purpose of Matshidiso Collection
The purpose of Matshidiso collection is to afford each and every employee an opportunity to express his/her condolences towards the passing of our fellow colleague. A substantial amount of what has been collected will be given to the family after covering cost as indicated in clause 3.4 below.
2. Applicability
2.1 Employees of Kitam Group.
2.2 All existing employees on payroll i.e. active employees including terminations that pay period.
3. Principle
3.1 In the event where an employee passes away, an amount of R50.00 shall be deducted from each employee's salary as a condolence / matshidiso contribution towards the funeral of the deceased employee.
3.2 The total contribution amount shall equal total number of existing employees on the payroll at the end of pay period multiplied by R50.00.
3.3 The calculated amount as per point 2.2, above, will be made available by the company soon after the death of an employee is confirmed; and the deductions from employees shall be made at the end of the pay period.
3.4 The condolence money shall be used as follows:
3.4.1. Payment of transport money for the attendance of the deceased employee's funeral.
3.4.2. Buying of a wreath
3.4.3. Arrangement of the memorial service
3.4.4. Remainder of the money will go to the family as "Matshidiso"
Cost cutting measures and discretion has to be applied with regard to above- mentioned expenses to ensure that the substantial amount of this collection goes toward the family.
3.5 Deduction of R50.00 is not an ongoing deduction; it will be made only upon death of an employee.
I hereby authorize Kitam Group to deduct, from my gross earnings, an amount of R50.00 towards Matshidiso contribution in the event a fellow employee member Death.
