Welcome to the Online Driver Improvement Clinic! This course is approved by the Department of Motor Vehicles for teens and adults. The course is a minimum of 8 hours of coursework designed to rehabilitate problem drivers.

To benefit from the course, you must be able to work independently and be comfortable with using a computer or mobile device. You are able to choose between the English or Spanish version of the course when you set up your student account.

The course consists of 11 sessions that must be completed prior to taking the final exam. The final exam is taken from home and is 50 multiple-choice questions. Student identification will be verified throughout the course and prior to taking the final exam to ensure the person taking the course is the same person taking the final exam.

Things to Know

There are 4 reasons to take this course:

1. Court Required
   • Drivers are required by the court to complete the course. NOTE: If you have not been to court, you are not court required.
   • A court document stating the driver will be awarded safe driving points must be submitted to the school. In the absence of notification, no safe points will be awarded by DMV.
2. DMV Required
   • Drivers are required by the DMV to complete the course.
   • Safe driving points are awarded.
   • Drivers under the age of 18 will not be awarded safe driving points if course attendance was required by DMV.
3. Insurance Discount
   • Drivers are completing the course to receive an insurance premium discount; you must verify eligibility with your insurance company.
   • No safe driving points are awarded.
4. Volunteer
   • Drivers completing the course voluntarily.
   • Safe driving points are awarded.
   • You may be awarded 5 safe driving points, once every 24 months, after you successfully complete a driver improvement course.
   • You may accumulate a maximum of 5 safe driving points on your driving record.

There are 2 ways to receive your certificate of completion:

1. Electronic Delivery (included)
   • Your electronic certificate is emailed to the email address on your student account. You can view and print the PDF.
   • The delivery of the email is not immediate. A staff member must create and send the certificate by email. If you complete the course after hours, on the weekend, or during a holiday break, your certificate will be emailed on the next business day.
2. USPS Delivery (optional add-on)
   • Select one of the shipping options and provide a mailing address if you want your certificate shipped.
   • This is not necessary if you have access to a printer! The certificate we print is the same certificate you receive by email.
   • We visit the post office once per day Monday through Friday. If you complete the course after hours, on the weekend, or during a holiday break, your certificate will be mailed on the next business day.

Student Information

Make sure your full legal name is listed above. A certificate will not get processed with initials. We will have to contact you via phone or email, which will cause a delay in issuing your certificate.
