We are DreamSeed Collective, a New York-based Black queer arts collective pursuing healing, joy, and restoration! Our names are Malanya Graham, Blaise Sparda, and Maliika Nia-Imani. We formed our collective with the belief that healing is found within the community. Our mission and honor is to nurture the community that inspired our growth! As our initial offering, we are co-creating an oracle affirmation deck based on ancestral wisdom and queer narratives. During this journey, we will host a series of concurrent photoshoots and community conversations. Inspired by holistic wellness practices and Black, Indigenous, and other POC queer ancestors, this deck will be a living symbol of our beautiful blossoming in the midst of mounting violence. The DreamSeed Oracle deck will give guidance and affirmations to those who have limited access to these tools. The images in the deck will be of queer and trans BIPOC folks - those of us who, due to white supremacy and anti-Blackness, are excluded from tarot imagery.

To develop the imagery, we are holding this Open Call for LGBTQIN2S BIPOC community members to sign up for a photoshoot in 2021. Photoshoots are in person and completely free to attend. To attend, proof of negative COVID-19 testing results or completed vaccinations must be submitted within 3-5 days of a shoot. All shoots will take place in NYC, mostly Brooklyn.

After completing this form, we will follow up with you to further discuss your availability, which card you would like to be, and any relevant prep. Please give us grace if we must make adjustments to our process or the schedule. We anticipate a large response to this offering; we may not be to feature every community member who expresses interest. We will respond to folks on a "first come, first served" basis. The Dreamseed Oracle deck will feature community members of all genders, generations, and abilities! You do not have to practice tarot to participate!
