RENEW YOUR SCHOLARSHIP GENERAL OVERVIEW
For scholarships that can be renewed for multiple semesters, all recipients are required to complete the Scholarship Renewal Form and submit the following documentation:
- A letter of verification from the chair or dean of the Family and Consumer Sciences Department confirming the recipient's enrollment in a minimum of 15 credit hours and is majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences for the upcoming semester.
- An official transcript sent directly from the accredited Texas college or university in which the recipient is currently enrolled via email to lcarroll@texasfccla.org or fccla@texasfccla.org or mailed to the state office at Texas Association Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, 1107 W. 45th Street, Austin, Texas 78756.
- A copy of the recipients upcoming semester schedule at the accredited Texas college or university in which the recipient is currently enrolled.
SCHOLARSHIPS ELIGABLE FOR RENEWAL
- CJ Davidson Scholarship - Eight (8) semesters
- CJ Davidson College Scholarship - Six (6) semesters
- FCCLA Regional Scholarship - Two (2) semesters
GOVERNING RULES
C.J. DAVIDSON SCHOLARSHIP
1. Each semester, the recipient is required to provide a letter from the chair of the Family and Consumer Sciences Department confirming enrollment in a minimum of 15 credit hours and is majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences for the upcoming semester. This verification letter must be printed on the official letterhead of the accredited college or university where the recipient is currently enrolled and should include a signature. This letter must be sent via email to lcarroll@texasfccla.org or fccla@texasfccla.org or mailed to the state office at Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, 1107 W. 45th Street, Austin, Texas 78756.
2. Each semester, the recipient is required to submit an official transcript of grades, confirming a GPA of 2.5 (C+) or higher on a 4.0 scale. Official transcripts must be sent directly from the accredited college or university in which the recipient is currently enrolled via email to lcarroll@texasfccla.org or fccla@texasfccla.org or mailed to the state office at Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, 1107 W. 45th Street, Austin, Texas 78756.
3. Each semester, the recipient is required to provide an a copy of their upcoming semester schedule at the accredited college or university in which the recipient is currently enrolled. This schedule must be sent via email to lcarroll@texasfccla.org or fccla@texasfccla.org or mailed to the state office at Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, 1107 W. 45th Street, Austin, Texas 78756.
4. Upon the scholarship recipient's acceptance into an accredited college or university and the fulfillment of the requirements outlined above, Texas FCCLA shall disburse money to the Registrar or Financial Officer of the college or university.
5. This money shall be used to defray cost of tuition, fees, books, and room and board.
6. This procedure will be repeat for the duration of the scholarship award, provided that the recipient continues to meet the established requirements. Upon receipt of the written notice confirming the applicant's acceptance for enrollment in the second semester, along with the completion of the above outlined requirements, Texas FCCLA will disburse the funds to the Registrar or Financial Officer of the respective college or university.
7. The recipient is required to enroll in and maintain a course load of 15 credit hours per semester. Any deviations from this requirement will result in ineligibility, unless prior approval has been granted by both the scholarship committee and the State Advisor before the beginning of the relevant semester.
8. The recipients will become ineligible should their grade point average fall below a C+ (2.5 on a 4.0 scale), change their major from Family and Consumer Sciences, or in the event of marriage.
9. Should the recipient forfeit the scholarship, the scholarship committee shall name an alternative recipient who would then receive the scholarship under the regulations herein stated.
10. The recipient is required to maintain regular communication with Texas FCCLA throughout the duration of the scholarship award. A failure to comply with this requirement will be considered a voluntary forfeiture of any remaining funds allocated to the recipient.
