SCHOLARSHIP RENEWAL PROCEDURE
READ THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES IN THEIR ENTIRETY
SPECIAL NOTE
THIS APPLICATION WILL NEED TO BE COMPLETED IN ONE SESSION. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SAVE WORK AND COMPLETE LATER. BEFORE YOU START, PLEASE HAVE ALL THE NECESSARY INFORMATION READY TO COMPLETE THE APPLICATION.
SCHOLARSHIP RENEWAL GENERAL OVERVIEW
For scholarships that can be renewed for multiple semesters, a Scholarship Renewal Form must be submitted with a copy of an OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT, verification letter and class schedule. When the renewal form has been received and approved, the process for issuing the scholarship check is the same as for first time scholarships.
Checks are made payable to and sent directly to the school. Students are notified only if the renewal is NOT approved. Scholarships may be renewed once per academic year.
SCHOLARSHIPS ELIGABLE FOR RENEWAL
The following scholarships are for eligibile for renewal
- CJ Davidson Scholarship - Eight (8) semesters
- CJ Davidson College Scholarship - Six (6) semesters
- FCCLA Regional Scholarship - Two (2) semesters
SCHOLARSHIP RENEWAL FORM PROCEDURE
Applications should be completed in full and returned to the Association, which will carry out the application process, evaluation procedure and determination of recipient of the scholarship awarded.
RULES REGULATING THE C.J. DAVIDSON SCHOLARSHIP FAMILY, CAREER AND COMMUNITY LEADERS OF AMERICA SCHOLARSHIP
- Each semester recipient must
- Request the chair of the Family and Consumer Sciences Department to confirm that the recipient is majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences;
- Furnish an official transcript of grades at the completion of each semester. These documents should be e-mail to Lydia Carroll at lcarroll@texasfccla.org or fccla@texasfccla.org
- Upon receipt of verification of the scholarship recipient’s current enrollment in a college or university majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences and an official transcript of grades, FCCLA shall disburse money to the Registrar or Financial Office of the college or university.
- This money shall be used to defray cost of tuition, fees, books, and room and board.
- Upon receipt of verification of the recipient’s acceptance for enrollment the second semester, documentation showing recipient is majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences and an updated transcript of grades, the FCCLA office, shall again disburse the money to the Registrar or Financial Office of the college or university. This procedure will be repeated for the length of the scholarship award, as long as the recipient continues to meet the requirements and proper documents are received each semester.
- The recipients shall be expected to enroll and maintain a course load of 15 hours per semester. Any deviation from this shall make the recipient ineligible, unless the scholarship committee and the State Advisor have granted approval prior to the start of the semester in question.
- Should the recipient forfeit the scholarship, the scholarship committee shall name an alternate recipient who would then receive the scholarship under the regulations herein stated.
Recipient shall remain in contact with the FCCLA State Office through the duration of the scholarship award.
Failure to do so will constitute a willing forfeit on behalf of the recipient of the remainder of any monies allocated to the student.
