What do you want to do during the residency? Your letter of intent should be a brief statement (about a page) that tells the reader why you want to participate in the residency. You may write about what you want to create (e.g. what is your chosen medium); why you want to make it (e.g. what are the key themes you want to address); anything that’s particularly unique about how you make art; and anything else the jury should know about your work that may not be clear just from looking at your portfolio images.
Your project may change and evolve during the residency, but your letter of intent will help us understand where you're starting from.
