Human Rights Commission on Sex Work Testimony Collection
  • Share Your Testimony

The Oregon Sex Worker Committee, in collaboration with and guided by impacted communities, offers advocacy to survivors of human trafficking and people who engage in sex work, regardless of whether they do so by choice, circumstance, or coercion. We engage in advocacy, education, and organizing to build a movement to protect the human rights of sex workers. We aim to create a world that is safe for all workers and where human trafficking does not exist. We support the full decriminalization of prostitution, solicitation and purchase of prostitution. We support consensual sex work between adults. Compelling someone to engage in sex work non consensually will still be illegal.  The goal of decriminalization will include decriminalizing prostitution, solicitation, and promotion of prostitution. Decriminalization of sex work adults' rights to engage in consensual sex work between adults over the age of 18. Compelling someone to engage in sex work will - and should - still be illegal.

  • Please tell us where you are in the world!

This effort is small but we hope for it to grow internationally. It is very helpful to have information about where you are in the world so we can see how criminalization changes as the years progress. Listing your country for general location purposes is helpful but knowing what state (if you live in the USA) or province is also helpful and the zip code you live in is specifically helpful for us to know where "hot spots" of extreme forms of violence and discrimination are taking place.
