FRONT OF HOUSE
Welcoming and directing guests, promoting the Festival program, conducting visitor surveys, counting visitors, checking tickets, and basic administrative support.
Knowledge of Yukon First Nations and communities, as well as a friendly, outgoing personality are assets.
GALLERY
Assisting with organizing artwork for inventory and pricing before and after the Festival, basic gallery security, and conducting sales of gallery artwork.
Gallery, retail, and sales experience is an asset.
COVID SAFETY / GREEN TEAM
Upholding the COVID safety guidelines by enforcing social distancing, hand sanitizing, and capacity restrictions, Upholding our commitment to keeping the Festival a clean and creative space for artists and visitors by helping with general clean-up, garbage, and recycling.
HOSPITALITY
Assisting in preparing basic individualized snacks and meals for artists, volunteers, and staff. Assistance with serving and preparing for special events, making coffee and tea, etc.
Food Safe certification is an assest.
LOGISTICS / FLOATER
Set-up and take-down for the Festival, moving and sanitizing chairs and tables to set-up for performances and events, odd jobs, staff support, and filling in where help is needed.
Note: some heavy lifting may be required.
PERFORMANCE & PRESENTATION SUPPORT
Assisting with set-up and take-down for different performances on the Main Stage and cultural presentations throughout the building. Assisting with seating Elders, keeping count of visitors, basic security, keeping fire exits clear, and general performance support.
ARTIST DEMONSTRATION AREA
Acting as the host in the artist demonstration area. Ensuring that artists have everything they need, directing the public, and giving visitors information on the artists.
TRANSPORTATION
Assisting Festival staff with airport and hotel pick-ups and drop-offs, running errands offsite, and giving artists short tours around Whitehorse when possible.
Note: driver's license required and having own vehicle to use is an asset.
VOLUNTEER AMBASSADOR
Assist the volunteer coordinator in training and orienting new volunteers, introducing new volunteers to staff leads, and determining volunteer needs in different positions.
Note: this position is best suited for our experienced Adäka volunteers!
**Please note that all volunteers will be required to promote and enforce COVID safety guidelines in all areas of the Festival. Training will be provided.**
