Our volunteers make our mission possible. You can help benefit someone else by offering your time, skills, and expertise. We would love to have you join us! To become a volunteer for Survivors With A Testimony (SWAT) you should have the following:
TIME:
You will be willing to offer 4 hours per week to assist with answering calls, helping with events in the community, assisting with spreading the news of the programs SWAT has to offer.
PASSION:
It’s important that our volunteers have a passion for helping others, and are willing to treat every person with respect.
TRAINING:
Volunteers must attend all CORE and Program Training dates. Read more information about the volunteer opportunities below, and click the “Become a volunteer now!” button to learn about the application process.
MUST ATTEND:
Virtual information sessions about our volunteer programs are held of the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm. Meeting are held every 2nd Sunday at 6:00 pm with the board chair, Executive Director and Volunteer Coordinator.
We work within the local community and help lead efforts to create a violence-free society. We are excited to invite you to join us in this work!
Survivors With A Testimony has two large umbrella groups of volunteer opportunities: Direct Services and Non-Direct Services.
Direct Service programs offer volunteers the opportunity to work directly with survivors and their children. All of these programs involve crisis intervention work.
Application requirements:
Must be at least 18 years old
Must pass an interview with a board chair
Must complete both the Core Training and Specialized Program Training.
Teen Voice: NU Creations Youth Group
Application requirements: Must be a an in school student age 13 – 18 and must complete training as necessary.
Fundraising: Volunteers plan and oversee campaigns and events to raise money and other kinds of donations for our organization
