A parent or guardian should be home throughout the school day. If a parent / guardian is not home they are responsible for providing appropriate supervision throughout the school day.
The student and family will register for cyber each year and complete a cyber orientation either in person or virtually. Student information is used and shared to give students access to Compass and / or Imagine Edgenuity courseware and related services in accordance with the privacy policy found on the Compass / Imagine Edgenuity website.
A parent / guardian has provided a valid email address that must be monitored regularly for correspondence and used to access the Skyward Family Portal. Parents, guardians & students are required to monitor progress, grades, and attendance in the student cyber account and the Skyward Family Portal.
The Greater Nanticoke Area School District has a responsibility to promote academic honesty and integrity and to develop procedures to deal effectively with instances of academic dishonesty. Students are responsible for the honest completion and representation of their work.
Parents, guardians, and students will follow all of the policies of the Greater Nanticoke Area School District including, but not limited to, attendance policies and the acceptable use of the internet & technology policy(AUP) Failure to follow the policies may result in the student being removed from the cyber program, referral to the magistrate, and / or and other consequences as outlined in the policy.
Students in grades 3 and up are REQUIRED to report to GNASD to take all standardized testing unless otherwise indicated by guidance
Students will receive a percentage grade that may factor into their GPA, for each of their cyber courses. Progress reports will be available midway and report cards at the end of each grading period.
Students enrolled in the Greater Nanticoke Area Cyber Program will, upon successful completion of their required graduation credit along with meeting all other graduation requirements, receive a diploma from Greater Nanticoke Area School District.
If the decision is made to return to traditional, the parent / guardian must contact the student’s the student’s cyber coordinator and the building principal.
