Before completing your Permit Application, please note that you will need the following information ready:
Details of your equipment and facilities for the species you wish to apply for a Permit for. Make a note of these before starting the Application.
Photos of your facilities - in particular cages, aviaries, enclosures etc. Even if this is a renewal request, you will still need to upload photos.
Local Council requirements - We recommend that you check the website of your Local Council to ascertain their local laws for keeping animals. Most Councils restrict the species and numbers of animals able to kept depending upon the property size. This may impact you if you wish to care for waterbirds (e.g. ducks, swans) or other native birds.
Geographical area for permit authorisations - Please note that Wildcare Australia Inc undertakes rescue/rehabilitation activities for general species in the following Council regions: Gold Coast, Scenic Rim, Logan, Brisbane and Ipswich. Unfortunately we do not have the resources to support carers in other regions. If you live outside of these regions, please email us to discuss before submitting a permit application.
If you have any questions about your Permit Application, please email the Permits Team at permits@wildcare.org.au.
