Hakima-Training Program Unit #1 Starting January 24 th., 2023 at 7 PM. (The unit is 16 weeks. Students meet once a week for a 3 hours session)
Unit #1: Refining our awareness
Syllabus:
In this unit, you will learn how to understanding your feelings, and manage them, based on the Holy Qur'an: You will learn about the seven levels of fear, the seven levels of anger, the seven levels of sadness, the seven levels of happiness, the seven levels of desire, the seven levels of love, as well as about the types of grief and loss. In addition, you will learn about the five epistemic tools and how to balance and integrate them. Further more, you will learn how to deal with death and dying, and prepare an advanced directives, and much more. The training include live senarious, and case studies.
Requirements
Prerequisite Assignment:
Every student must write a short bio, not more than 3 pages, describing the events and people that have impacted you the most, emotionally and spiritually. A helpful suggestion: Write without filtering your emotions and thoughts as you reflect on your past life up to day. This is not supposed to be a proffesional CV but rather a personal reflection on you life's journey. Record yourself telling your story spontaneously, and then edit and condense to the main points that you feel are most important to share in class. Take some chances! Be vulnurable and share your vulnurability with classmates and teacher. It will help us understand who you are, what triggers you emotionally and it will help us bond together in a depper way. Please have this initial assignment completed and posted in Google classroom that you'll join before the first class. Your educator will go first, and also share her life story in class/

Code of Ethics:
Every student must sign Universal Chaplaincy Code of Ethics before first class starts.
Attendance
This class is highly interactive. Therefore, every student is expressed to attend all classes to getthe full benefits of class discussions and didactics. In case you may have to be absent from class, you will have to watch the recoded video as soon as you can and catch up with any missing assignments. Every student is allowed three leave of absence during the unit.
Assignments:
This class is meant to help you become more self-aware and to learn how to facilitate a way for others to become self-aware. Therefore, we emphasis on doing all the assignment on time to really get the full benefit of the class.

Every student is expected to fully participate in sharing thoughts, feelings, critique, and readingreflections in class discussions.
Real Life Scenarios:
Active exercises on how to respond as a Hakim/Hakimah in different scenarios.
Verbatims:
Every student isrequired to submit two verbatims (case-studies)
Midterm and Final Self-Evaluation:
Every student is required to submit a midterm and final self-evaluation, answering the questions assigned by the educators.
Certificate:
Every student will receive a certificate of completion upon finishing all the assignments required by the supervisor.
