Learn how we worked our way through these unique problems. This class does not require you to have attended any of our previous classes.
Class 2, Using a Current probe for Diagnostics: When it comes to circuit testing, the current probe combined with a lab scope makes a powerful tool. The current probe not only allows you to see the circuit amperage, but it also allows you in many cases to assess the mechanical function of such components as relays, solenoids, injectors, coils and much more. This class is a must for diagnostic technicians.
Class 3, Toyota Prius Prime plug in Hybrid Operation and Diagnosis: With the growing popularity of Hybrid and EV vehicles, in this class we will be looking at all aspects of operation of this very popular Hybrid. We will cover topics such as battery construction and operation, inverter and MG operation, the plug-in charging system and much more.
Class 4, Dual Fuel Injection Systems: We all know the problems associated with GDI direct injection systems, carbon build up in the intake manifold and on the back of the intake valves. Some manufacturers have chosen to install Dual Injection systems to address this issue. In this class we will look at these systems, how they operate, components, scan data and diagnosis.
Class 5, Operation and Diagnosis of Accessory Systems: Whether it be windshield wipers, power windows, memory seats, these systems are generally integrated over several networks and modules. We will cover operation and diagnosis on various accessory systems using scan tools, scopes, and current probes to determine where the actual problems are.
Class 6, Hyundai Ionic EV Features and Operation: This is the latest offering from Hyundai in their EV lineup. We will cover operation and diagnosis of all the major high voltage systems on this car.
Class 7, How to Diagnose Network Faults: We continue to see a high number of network and communication faults. In this session we will look at network operation and diagnosis. You will learn how to approach a single module not communing and a whole network failure. We will be looking at LIN networks, CAN networks and Fiber networks. We will also look at various network monitoring tools that can be used to assist in diagnosis.
Class 8, J2534 and factory scan tools 2022: Starting in 2017 manufacturers started offering their factory scan tool software that was compatible with a J2534 generic interface. We will look at some of these offerings, how to get them, pricing, features, programming etc. Owning factory scan tools is now becoming a viable option for most shops.
Class 9, ADAS Sensors Testing and Set up: Lane assist, blind spot monitoring, radar cruise, parking aid. These systems rely on sensors to operate, this session looks at these sensors, how they operate, how to test them and in many cases how to replace, program and calibrate them. Know what your options are when these cars show up for service.
Class 10, Advanced Security and Immobilizer Operation and Diagnosis: It is almost impossible to replace anything related to powertrain electronics without having to deal with security systems. Additionally, it can be very expensive to have a locksmith come in and cut or program keys for you. In this class we will cover how these systems operate, how to diagnose them and how to perform the various relearns and key add procedures.
