    Please read the following Code of conduct.

    While marshalling duty, please conduct yourself per the Think Bike code of conduct. As a Think Bike marshal, you are always in the media.

    Think Bike Code of Conduct

    • Be courteous to participants, event officials and road users
    • Obey the instructions of the Head Marshal, Deputy Head Marshals and Event Captain
    • Assist foot marshals, traffic authorities and/or emergency personnel
    • Obey the rules of the road as far as it is practical to do so In the interest of the participant's safety, you may be required to disregard specific traffic rules – do not abuse this privilege
    • You may not consume alcohol or other intoxicating substances before, during or after a marshalling event and you may not report for marshalling duty under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substances
    • Be assertive, but not aggressive
    • Should participants verbally abuse you, do not become abusive yourself
    • once you are an accredited Marshal and you sign up for an event it will be your responsibility to find a replacement if you can not make the event for any reason.
    • If you have committed to attending a marshalling event, please advise the HM (Head Marshal) and/or EC (Event Captain) 48 hours before the event should you not be able to make it by calling them directly.
    • You will always look neat and respectable whilst at an event, as you represent the Think Bike brand.

    I further acknowledge that Marshals are required to wear a Think Bike jacket, a Think Bike branded shirt, once received, and a luminescent yellow cap or "cricket hat" while on duty. The Think Bike Marshal Jacket remains, at all times, the property of Think Bike Marshals and it is my responsibility to return the jacket to Think Bike Marshals within two weeks of ceasing to be a Think Bike Marshal or action will be taken. The jacket may only be used on sanctioned events and no others.

    All other paraphernalia may be kept as souvenirs but may not be worn.

    Marshals are required to wear the correct riding gear for their safety (ATGATT) and the riding pants or pants for static Marshals must be black. 

    Marshals are required to have a radio with Zello on it or download Zello on a smartphone for communication on events through the Apple or Play stores.

    Think Bike Marshals use the Telegram Instant messaging service for main communication, it is your responsibility to keep up to date with goings on.

    I hereby undertake to adhere to the Marshals Confidentiality Agreement as indicated below.

     

    This notice serves to inform all Think Bike Members who have access to the Marshals Forum, Telegram group or Zello channels whether you are a Trainee Marshal, Accredited Marshal, Senior Marshal, Deputy Head Marshal or Head Marshal that all information contained within the Marshals boards of communication is STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL.

    Any information that is copied and/or shared with anyone other than a Think Bike Marshal, will lead to the instant dismissal of the person concerned, with no discussion or leave to appeal. This applies to confidential documents, emails, private messages, or forum posts.

    When you become a Think Bike Marshal, you are EXPECTED to uphold the Values, Mission, and Vision of the Think Bike Marshals, which includes the basic rule of being there to Raise Awareness and Save Lives. Adhering to the Ethos, Rules, and Management of the Think Bike Marshals is NOT NEGOTIABLE.

    The rule of “immediate dismissal” will be enforced when a Think Bike Marshal is found to

    breach of this Confidentiality Agreement.
     and may result in further legal action being taken to protect the interests of Think Bike.

    Information/POPIA Act and Social Media

     

    The following documents will be required and stored if you remain a Think Bike Marshal. Think Bike can request updated information at any time such as a driver’s/rider's license. All documentation related to you will be removed on your request, resignation, or retirement as a Think Bike marshal.

    From time to time different forms of social media may be used for advertising purposes related to Think Bike events and Think Bike marshalling. These may require your consent to use if your presence is in the media. The photos will not show you in any way in a negative way, nor will they show your motorcycle's number plate or licence. Should your photo be used on any of the Think Bike social media links, Think Bike cannot control photos placed by non-Think Bike entities on any social media platforms. Once your photos are placed on social media it is available to everyone.

    The HM and DHMs will strictly control the use of media for any advertising purposes.

     

    Think Bike Instant Messages Platform

    All IM (Instant Messages) that are personal will be removed monthly to adhere to the clean data policy.
