Boarding Agreement

Reminder: Boarding is $65/day for dogs that have not graduated from a Board and Train Program, $50/day for Board and Train Graduates, and $75/day for puppies under 6 months of age. Other rates apply for females in heat or dogs with human and/or animal aggression. Day of Drop off is Day 1. Pick ups before 11 am will count as a half day. Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays are always a full day. Drop off and pick up is by appointment only. Mon and Wed 9 am-11 pm and 4 pm - 7 pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays and 4 pm - 7 pm, Fri and Sat 9 am-5 pm, and Sunday 4 pm-7 pm. Appointments outside of these hours are an additional $50 fee. For boarding scheduled over a holiday, we require a 50% deposit.

Please note that we cannot take a dog in for boarding that has gone to a dog park or high capacity daycare/other boarding facility within the previous 21 days of his stay at Mile High K-9. This is for the safety of your dog and other dogs here, as dog parks are one of the main ways that canine/kennel cough is passed around. Symptoms may not show for up to 14-16 days.

Your dog must be on a leash before exiting your vehicle. Please be sure your dog has on a collar or harness that he/she cannot slip out of. If you need assistance, we are happy to help!

We operate by appointment. If you arrive early, you may have to wait. Please do not show up more than 10 minutes early. If you are going to be late, please let us know as soon as possible and before you are late. Please do not honk at the gate. Thank you for helping us keep things running smoothly!

By enrolling the above named Owner’s Dog, I represent that I am the legal owner of the named dog and I assume all risks, danger, and responsibility for injuries to the named dog. Owner understands and agrees that Owner is solely responsible for any harm to Owner’s Dog while Owner’s Dog is in the care of Mile High K-9, LLC/ MHK9. During the Dog’s Board and/or train stay, the Dog may be actively socialized with other dogs. This socialization helps with adjustment, and helps to set the stage for solid training. We strive to place each Dog in an appropriate ‘playgroup’; however, compatibility issues do arise and disputes and injuries may occur. Mile High K-9 monitors playgroups to help avoid injuries, however, scratches, punctures, torn ligaments, and other injuries may occur despite the best supervision. Not every dog will be placed in a playgroup. If necessary, Dogs will receive a bath before being picked up by Owner. If professional grooming is needed or requested by the Owner, it may be able to be provided for an additional fee at the Owner’s Expense. Mile High K-9 reserves the right to use any training equipment they see fit for Owner’s Dog during the Owner’s Dog’s stay.

Mile High K-9 is not responsible for any veterinary care expenses. Owner understands and agrees that any behavioral or physical health problems that develop with the Owner’s Dog(s) while in the care of Mile High K-9 will be handled and treated as deemed best by the employees of Mile High K-9, in their sole discretion, and Owner expressly agrees to assume full financial responsibility for any and all expenses arising or related thereto. Owner’s signature is Owner’s authorization for any Mile High K-9 agent to sign for any emergency veterinarian service that Owner’s Dog may require in the event the Owner cannot be contacted, and as a release of liability against any Mile High K-9 agent for any adverse reaction that such aid or service might produce. Owner authorizes Mile High K-9 to do whatever they deem necessary for the health and well-being and in the best interest of the Owner’s Dog and understands that Owner will be responsible for all veterinarian charges. If Owner’s Dog requires special care, Owner authorizes Mile High K-9 to provide that care and Owner agrees to pay for those services. Owner's will be charged at a rate of $75/hour plus mileage should their dog require a visit to the vet for any reason.

Mile High K-9 is not responsible for the loss or damage of any Owner/Client’s belongings that are dropped off with their dog. Owner is responsible for providing all food, supplements, medications, or treatments for their dog’s entire stay. Should Mile High K-9 have to obtain any food, supplements, medications, or treatments for maintenance for the Dog during it’s boarding and/or training, the Owner will be responsible for the actual reimbursement amount as well as the time required to obtain said items at a rate of $75/hour. Owner acknowledges that their Dog may lose weight while boarding due to increased activities and/or stress from a new environment. Mile High K-9 reserves the right to increase or decrease Owner’s Dog’s feeding amount at the discretion of Mile High K-9.

Owner holds Mile High K-9 harmless and indemnified against any loss, damage, or claim related to Owner’s Dog’s boarding, handling, or care by Mile High K-9 due to illness, disease, theft, fire, death, escape, injury, harm to persons, harm to other pets, harm to property, or due to any cause whatsoever. Owner agrees to be solely responsible for any and all acts of the Dog during the terms of this agreement or until the Dog has been removed from Mile High K-9, whichever comes later. Owner agrees to pay for damages caused by Owner’s Dog to humans, other animals, or property during their stay at Mile High K-9. Owner acknowledges and agrees that Owner is solely responsible for Owner’s Dog and Owner’s Dog’s actions during boarding, training, and in the future. Owner acknowledges and agrees that any training that the Owner’s Dog and Owner receives or contracts for does not constitute any guarantee whatsoever that Owner’s Dog will not cause harm or loss, intentional or unintentional, to any human being, animal, itself, or property. Owner hereby holds Mile High K-9 harmless for any liability for Owner’s Dog or any of Owner’s Dog’s actions including, but not limited to, intentional or unintentional actions that cause harm or loss to a human being, animal, itself, or property during the boarding/training period and at any time in the future. Owner acknowledges that training requires maintenance and follow up from the Owner after the Dog is picked up.

Owner understands that Mile High K-9 reserves the right to refuse admittance to any dog, or to dismiss any dog that does not meet the health, temperament, or other Mile High K-9 standards at any time. Owner understands that Mile High K-9 reserves the right to groom or bathe Owner’s Dog if they deem it necessary and to charge current prices for their services. This includes excessive matting, fleas, excessive odor, etc. Owner understands that Mile High K-9 is not a professional grooming salon. Owner agrees to pay for all services requested by Mile High K-9. Owner understands that if Owner does not return for Owner’s Dog or contact Mile High K-9 within seven (7) days after the Owner’s scheduled pickup date, Mile High K-9 will consider the Dog abandoned and the Dog will become the property of Mile High K-9. Owner is responsible for any and all charges accrued during such time. It is up to the discretion of Mile High K-9 what to do with the dog after those seven days.

Owner understands and agrees that 100% of funds are due on the date the dog is dropped off for boarding and/or training. Any additional boarding or training fees will be due on the date the Dog is picked up.

Furthermore, Owner hereby entrusts Mile High K-9 to care for Owner’s Dog while at the Mile High K-9 facility, or away from the facility, as seen fit by Mile High K-9. Owner agrees that Mile High K-9 has permission to take Owner’s Dog in a vehicle, off the Mile High K-9 property, as seen fit by Mile High K-9. Owner acknowledges and agrees that Mile High K-9 is not responsible for damages that may occur while traveling or while off-site. Owner agrees to allow Mile High K-9 to post pictures of Owner’s Dog on social media, websites, and any advertising material.

Owner hereby certifies that Owner has read and understands this boarding and training Contract, Waiver, and Release of Liability and the regulations set forth above. By signing this agreement, Owner agrees to be bound by its terms and conditions. Owner understands the terms and has signed it freely. This contract is valid from this date forward and for all future boarding stays.
