Calvin Jones Sr. Memorial Scholarship Program

Application Instructions:

Thank you for your interest in the St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Calvin Jones, Sr. Memorial Scholarship Program. The steps listed below will assist you in the completion of your application. Please read and follow the instructions very carefully. There will be no exceptions.

Eligibility Requirements:

1)     Applicants must be a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church and is an active participant in regular church attendance and actively involved in at least one church ministry.

2)     Applicant must be a graduating high school senior with a minimum cumulative 2.5 G.P.A. (Grade Point Average).

3)     Applicant must enroll in a 2- or 4-year college, university, or a vocational program. Proof of registration and acceptance is required.

4)     Submit a one-page essay about yourself, your goals, your plans for the future, including your reason(s) for applying for this scholarship.

Scholarship Awards:

Funds are awarded based on vocational, 2-year, or 4-year college attendance. If you are awarded a scholarship based on a 4-year college and the college you actually attend is a vocational or 2-year college, the amount of your scholarship will be adjusted to the appropriate amount.

APPLICATION FILING DEADLINE IS FRIDAY, JUNE 28, 2024 (NO EXCEPTIONS). ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ACCEPTANCE LETTER, PRINTED ON THE COLLEGE OR VOCATIONAL PROGRAM LETTERHEAD.
