    Speaker: Dr. Tim Gibson

Series: Acts: Empowered for the Mission, Part 32

    Text: Acts 15:12-35

Main Idea:  Disciples who live out the Gospel hold firm to the essential doctrines, are flexible with their liberties, but also rigidly obey God’s Word as the rule for their lives.

  • 1.      Living out the Gospel requires that we never compromise the      truths of God’s Word for the sake of unity. (12-18)

    • Salvation : That salvation is by grace through       in Christ alone.
    • Scripture : That the Bible is inspired, inerrant, authoritative, &       .
    • God : That God is one and yet       in 3 persons.
    • Jesus : That Jesus is fully       & also fully man.
    • Resurrection : That Jesus died, was buried, rose again &       into heaven.
    • Return : That Jesus will return bodily in power to       the living and the dead.

    2.      Living out the Gospel requires that we strive to      others by not putting a stumbling block in front of them through the exercise of our liberties. (19-31).

    • Out of love for the lost we must be sensitive to cultural norms so as not to       in hopes to win them to Christ. (1 Cor 9:19-22)
    • Out of love for fellow believers we must never allow our morally permissible liberties to cause a brother to       into sin. (1 Cor 8:1-13)
    • Out of love for God we must strive to please the Lord & not follow       cultural norms that clearly violate God’s Word.

    3.      Living out the Gospel requires that we      & submit to God’s Word as the rule for our faith and conduct! (32-35)
