LIOCO Proprietor Matt Licklider is calling on California’s winemaking past with this varietal bottling of old-vine Carignan. From a historic Mendocino vineyard pitched on the lofty slopes of Cloverdale’s Pine Mountain, Carignan is in fact known for its abilities as a French blending grape and is hardly ever bottled as a single varietal; however, heads will most certainly turn when the wine is as delicious as this LIOCO effort. Think of this dark and delightful beauty when you are gearing up for a Summertime BBQ. LIOCO’s savory Carignan pairs beautifully with lamb, steaks, and especially pulled pork or spareribs.
