Position: Board of Directors

Location: London Downtown, Inc P.O. Box 3332, London, KY 40743

Schedule: Monthly Meetings determined by the Board.

Term Length: Directors are appointed for three year terms with optional reappointments determined by a majority of the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities:

The Board of Directors assumes legal and philosophical responsibility for all activities of the program. Board members provide leadership for the program, participate in planning, fundraising, and committee assignments and serve as advocates for downtown revitalization efforts. Board members represent the larger view of why downtown revitalization is crucial for the entire community.

Board members should demonstrate interest in the programs purpose and goals. Experience in or knowledge of administration, finance, program development, advertising, public relations, downtown business activity, communications, design, and economic development are a benefit but are not required. Each board member should be willing to invest several hours per month in the program.

Board member task:

1. Advocate for London Downtown by educating the community and promoting or mission.

2. Attend monthly and special called meetings including annual planning.

3. Serve on committee.

4. Participate in fundraising.

5. Volunteer for London Downtown events and play an active role to recruit, inspire, guide other members and participants.

6. Ensure London Downtown is compliant with all legal, financial and governmental requirements as described in the bi-laws
